This is exactly what I wanted! Very nice work! At first it didn't seem to work in-game but after merging a few other mods with each other it's fine. Merge your mods people! Being able to start the game doesn't mean everything is working well together.
This is my favorite kind of mod: one that removes a small nitpick - some tiny thing that's really no big deal - while simultaneously confirming that at least a few other people are annoyed by this thing. Love it.
alternate light sources removes the interaction and icons in non witcher sense mode. this mod removes the hovering icons that you can see from a few metres away in witcher sense mode
Two days ago, I found myself thinking "that'd be neat if I were to find some sort of mod that hides interaction icons for candles when I don't have Igni equipped". And as always, the modding community delivered. Thanks for this so simple yet so useful mod, my good sir!
Wow, this is a mod I never knew I needed. Same with alternate lightsource mod -- wish I had this 200 hours ago lol I have a question man: this is your first playthrough? And you're already making mods? That's pretty damn dope. What background do you have with modding? Surely this isn't your first experience modding games
Ive studied computer science and have been working in small game development projects for 2 years. I have modded dozens of game as a user (moddability is a major reason for me to buy a game) and created mods for skyrim, fallout, stardew valley, enter the gungeon and terraria. I create a lot of personal edits that I dont release but it seems like the witcher 3 modding community likes these tweak mods so I decided to upload them. I also played and modded (as a user) witcher 1 and 2. Witcher 3 has great modding capability so I really enjoy modding it. In conclusion: its not my first experience modding or programming in general and if I see something I dont like I will edit it before I continue playing.
That's awesome to hear man. I'm a novice at modding; only ever making my own mods for Left 4 Dead 2 -- but I've been thinking about trying to get into Witcher 3 modding. The only mods I've done on here are small tweaks in files -- most recent being giving the player a Grandmaster Witcher Set Yrden sign bonus without having to use the armor.
But I think I saw somewhere you're taking suggestions? Not sure how doable this is, but a small tweak I feel like would be ground finisher rag dolls -- nearly every time I finish an enemy that's on the ground, their body goes flying like 8 feet as I stab the ground killing them. Not sure how difficult of a tweak that would be, but it's a suggestion.
havent encountered that one. that sounds like an fps problem to me. do you have uncapped fps? a lot of games have these physics problems when fps are going above 60
Now that you mention it, yeah, that might be the problem. FPS ranges from 60 on the low end to 140 on the high end, depending on terrain. Thanks for the heads up, I'll try looking into that.
Just wanna say you motivated me to download ModKitchen and Witcher 3 Modkit to create my own badass mods... Expect to see my most recent banger, THE Shirt, blowing up and going platinum here soon.
great. As Im mostly interested in scripting the only thing Im using is notepad++, not even using witcher 3 language definition files for notepad++ like https://www.nexusmods.com/witcher3/mods/2208 although I should probably start doing so. notepad++'s "find in files" search function is also a godsend to quickly find definitions and uses in the entire base game script folder. I dont know if there is a faster way
Im currently doing my first playthrough and am modding away everything that I find annoying. If you have any suggestions (no story spoilers please) go ahead
Hey sir, I have a request, regarding a very annyoing issue. Don't know if you can do it, many people on Discord told me it's hard to do.
Could you try to add more pocket slots to the game. The ones where you only have 2 of them for "Torch", "Magic Lamp" and all that stuff. Especially, when playing with mods, you get more of these pocket items, and 2 slots is not enough. The mod "More Quick Slots" does a great job on making more "Bomb" and "Potion" Slots available, but doesn't take care of the "pocket slots".
Would be amazing if you could do that as additional file for "More Quick Slots". Thank you for your current mod, it's really enhancing the immersion.
hmm, not an issue I have personally, also more than a scripting mod so I need to look into asset (un)packing. sounds fun but as people on discord said, its a bit more work as it involves changing the ui. maybe I can also put the additional slots somewhere else if thats easier. I will maybe spent a few hours trying but no guarantee
Boah, that would be so COOL! Doesn't matter where you would put those additional slots, if players could use more than 2 pocket slots and choose between more of these items in the radial menu, that would be AWESOME. Hope you can do something about it, thank you so much for trying it, that's amazing.
which version of immersive sound are you using? I can quickly check whats wrong with the merge and create a patch if needed EDIT: ok, found the issue, Im uploading a patch for both versions EDIT2: uploaded EDIT3: also thanks, I like the bug fix version of that mod, those places of power were annoying. Ill be using it.
Nice to read, that you now also use Immersive Sound. I use the normal version, thanks for your compatible version. It's personal taste, I used the bug fix only version of Immersive Sound long time ago, but I started using the regular one of it maybe 2 years ago and it is even better imho.
