In my tests. the Alternate AXII (Delusion+Puppet) is indeed fixed by this mod.. theres also this "traditional .ini tweak" which also aims to fix this bug too.. I've had tests where I'm comparing How this mod would perform in comparison to the "traditional .ini tweak" and i fail to see any difference as both this mod and the .ini tweak worked well enough alone on their own..
In the end, I chose this mod over the .ini tweak as this mod seems to be the more "intelligent" fix. HOWEVER, with this mod on, i've had numerous occassions where Geralt chooses to CAST ALTERNATE Igni instead of the Normal IGNI..(happens with Aard too)
Often times im wearing the Griffin set, where it has the Witcher EFFECT of Casting a SIGN the "second time" without additional stamina cost.. SO to take advantage of this, I mostly spam IGNI continuously by "DOUBLE TAPPING" the hotkey to cast it TWICE.. BUT whenever I'm using this mod, GERALT would instead CAST ALTERNATE IGNI most of the time, instead of just casting NORMAL IGNI TWICE..
After dropping this mod and reverting back to the "traditional .ini tweak" I tried the same scenario. and the annoying "RANDOM ALTERNATE CASTING" doesn't occur anymore
Can someone confirm this? or my game is just trippin?
I was testing other signs and for some reason, the signs would use alternate sign effects randomly even when using others like Yrden etc. I even switch controllers to see if there's something wrong with my controller, but nope. Everything works. It just goes Alternate casting.
I think is because the mod author speed up the casting time, but not sure why it affected other signs as well.
"'CastSignHold' action activation is delayed by 0.2 seconds after player presses and holds button to cast sign. Delusion skill speeds up sign casting animation and at the point when "button holding" is checked, 'CastSignHold' action returns 0 input value. Change that to 'CastSign' which is activated immediately, and, at the end of sign casting animation, proper input state is returned."
This fix affects other alternate signs as well. All signs use the same "action". I have done few extra tests with grandmaster griffin gear, unlimited FPS (~100 instead of 60) and 30 FPS. Almost every time got the expected results. Problems occured only when I was intentionally holding Q (my key for signs) a little too long and when double tapping Q before the first sign cast animation ended, only in these cases I got alternate sign cast instead of basic. This is expected behaviour, though might require getting used to it. Grandmaster griffin gear seems to be blocking ability to cast alternate signs during "free sign in 3 seconds" period, that looks like limitation of armor itself, not broken controls. Please check if you have more than one "signEntity.ws" or "signOwner.ws" file in your "The Witcher 3/mods/" folder. Game uses only one modded script from many (from first mod, sorted alphabetically). Other than that, I don't know what could be wrong. Consider this mod as another option to fix this bug, which may not work.
I have no problems so far, I edited my user settings long time ago to fix this issue on that side and now I use this mod, too. Maybe the usage of this mod is not needed for me in addition to the user settings-change (I think so). Will try tomorrow and then I report if this mod is needed or just the user settings edit. I think, the edit of the user settings is probably safer. Input settings, I mean, sorry.
looking into folders, if some mod doesn't work is always the first thing I do. Or using the file content preview in the files tab while downloading the file.
I can CONFIRM that this mod also fixes the issue for x-box controllers. Use an Xbone controller to play and this mod fixed the problem perfectly. Thank you kindly!
Can someone explain to me what this mod does? I honestly don't understand the description. I haven't noticed a problem with Axii, even with every single skill fully upgraded and activated....
