I publish this selfmade mod that I really like just because I always taking from the mod community but didn’t contribute anything. If you think this mod is not suitable for your superior taste, just don’t use it, you really don’t need to come here and BS with me for show how superior your taste is.
You may ask SandmanEnters about it, this video was uploaded by him, so I can’t confirm what hair mod him using, sorry. You can easily find him in comments.
You could not have said that better. Too many people out there act like modding is some job that pays you money and takes little to no time or effort at all while they act like leeches downloading mods and requesting stuff WITHOUT paying. Instead of making requests, why not try to mod it yourself! Utterly ridiculous.
Hey friend dont care about what they are saying me personally and thousnd other ppl enjoyed the effort you have put on this mod thank you for making it
wtf is this dodge spam? where are the actual COMBAT animations? it's a slightly different slash, that's it, the rest is dodging and the replaced roll...
I reinstalled this today and it's working really well. I prioritized it (with numbering in folder names) in my mods folder, ahead of all my other combat mods and I had one auto resolved conflict with AMM, nothing major. Being able to prioritize the attack animations just makes everything so crisp and smooth - as opposed to the vanilla config over which I have no control. So even with this mod only changing the long range light attack, it still makes all the other animations and transitions between them so much better. I'm gonna upload 2 .gifs to show the animation change, then later a video or two for comparison.
Merged along with 138 other mods, incl the following that affect combat:
Pirouette like a SwordDancer (version already repacked with both hands on sword and swordplay, check e3Dodge posts section) Combat Stance Enhanced Targeting for Upatch Better Parries Legendary Counters Immersive A.I. (No idea what this mod is called on Nexus, that's just the file name.) Immersive Cam Immersive Motion FIst Fight Finish Friendly HUD
apparently the e3dodge's post section is gone now. is it possible for you to share the link for that piroutte ? also I think the Immersive A.I. is the one included in the Immersive Cam mod page. thanks.
thanks for the upload. however, that doesn't seem to be the same as the original piroutte like a sworddancer. cause I tried it and the dodge and roll animations are the same with vanilla(I think, cause I didn't notice any difference). tried to install both and they don't seem to have conflict, so I think it means they don't have the same files?
No it's a fixed version of e3Dodge, with the animations replaced by the same ones as pirouette like a sworddancer. Vanilla Roll, but with nice pirouette animations on the dodges. It's the one I use, wasn't made by me though
how do i delete this mod? i installed it with vortex and want to delete it now but even after deleting it on vortex i still have these combat animations
I've done some testing and I've discovered I know nothing about coding. But, I did manage to figure some stuff out: - I redid the testing with various combinations of the following: > E3Dodge (with fix) / Vanilla Dodge / School of the Dodge (Dodge and Pir. like SwordDancer) - choose one > E3 Improved Combat (with fix) / Vanilla / More Reasonable Combat - choose one - Additional Mods related to combat: -Enhanced Targeting Upatch, -Combat Stance, -Immersive Cam, -Better Parries Update, -Legendary Counter -Immersive A.I. (can't remember what this mod is actually called on Nexus, but that's the name of the file and I can't find it by searching Immersive AI) -About 100 others not really related
What I've learned: -Vanilla forward dodges are amazing. Flanks the enemy and it looks dope. -Vanilla Rolls are not for me -School of the Dodge is fine, but it's not ideal for the way I play. -E3 Improved Combat is less spinning, but also slower and doesn't do the best job of choosing the best animations for each situation (the way I play anyway) -More Reasonable Combat is close to Vanilla, but not the same and works better in 1 or 2 scenarios in my opinion. Very nice and I would recommend it to anybody if you want to try something else. -E3Dodge changes attack animations in certain situations, I'm assuming right after a dodge or piroutte (roll). The lines of code are slightly different from vanilla, but that's as much as I could figure out.
My favourite combo is E3Dodge (fix in posts section of mod) + Vanilla Animations. I took a video of every one of these scenarios, but I don't have proper editing software so I'm not gonna be stitching it together and uploading at the moment. Limited Internet Cap too.
I will post a video soon of my favourite setup and try to explain how and why.
Thanks to author of this mod for your hard work, many people don't realize the hours that go into stuff like this.
Better Combat works fine with everything else, I have seen some of those animations before, although I never had the mod installed. Must be part of something else I had installed. EDIT: I tried to figure what this was. If you do a FORWARD long range light attack by pressing sprint+forward+attack, vanilla has one animation for that. If you do it to the LEFT, it's another one , same for the right and I think different ones when changing direction quickly. Looks like Better Combat mod just incorporates all of them to be used for any/all directions, choosing randomly between them. Not 100% on that so feel free to correct me
Vanilla game have 15 long range light attack animations, 8 regular animations and 7 alternate animations ( far enough away from the enemy after first range light attack ) , 1 to 3 in each direction, most animations only have few opportunities to trigger, then I still re-edited them all ( keep, swap, remove, increase, decrease ), didn’t break the vanilla animation structure to ensure maximum compatibility and preserve vanilla combat transition mechanism, that's why this took so much time, but these changes are not easy to detect, more than half animations that I re-edited are very unlikely to trigger, but when they are triggered, maybe you will feel those changes. You are right about Better Combat, Better Combat just incorporates all long range light attack animation to be used for any/all directions and trigger one of them randomly.
@tymylsyfsd Thanks for the info bud. The amount of work that goes into this stuff is hectic man. I'm back on your mod btw, merged it with e3dodge and all the other stuff again and it's great so far. Vanilla was starting to bug me bad, so I went back to this one.
Wonder why ppl dislike Vanilla rolls. To me, the E3 pirouette rolls (longer distance version) look really unrealistic. I think they are meant for shorter distance like a gap-closer or flips.
