Hello. So i just downloaded your mod and I noticed that all npc skins including triss yenn and ciri (Not Geralt) have a strange texture effect on them. The issue is that their skin has these long lines all over them, some are straight and others are somewhat polygonal. This issue is very noticeable during cut scenes. I disabled the mod but I still have this issue. If anyone can help I would be very grateful.
@Andrew1982: There's an impact if you have a mid range GC and you're playing with a bunch of retex mods. I have two gpus, a 1050ti and a 1030, tried with both mods and the 1030 loss around 3-4 fps when playing with Denroth's version. Of course, could be something else on my installation! But every fps counts when talking about a md card. With that said, it's just a matter of taste at the moment of choose mods.
^ +1 no disrespect to Denroth, but their textures are way overkill. Just because one author makes something, it doesn't mean it's the best or only implementation.
Really nice work OP! I'd love to see your take on the normal blend textures that drive face animation wrinkles.
Andrew1982, I never wrote about fps loss or anything about that, I just point it out that IMHO it's difficult to choose wich pore overlay is the better one. lol
FATsprinter, the texture size has almost no effect on anything other than the occupied video memory on the video card. These are not polygons or lighting. FPS loss is extremely minimal. Apparently, you poorly understand the rendering device in video games. Do you have 1030 and 1050ti ?? You would have played the Witcher on the integrated video card ...))))) These video cards are only for viewing photos in 640x480 resolution))
Great job here ... I'm glad other modders are getting interested in the pores of the skin. let me give you some advice, Increasing the resolution of the pore texture can result in a loss of performance without any benefit (I recommend you stay on 512x512) ... your map does not contain any alpha channel (with a structure) this makes the pores of the skin are still excessively visible at short distances and does not completely remove the "wrinkle effect" ... try to insert an alpha channel on the map and accentuate it in the internal areas of the pores.
@Jatodude1: if you refer to the FPS drop .. you will hardly notice a drop with my mods (even if in 4K) .. my version of the skin pores still has vanilla resolution (512x512) ... no loss of performance here. that's the beauty of having a wide variety of mods .. simply choose based on your own personal tastes (and not by hearsay).
@Zhoken if you need help or advice you can contact me via Discord .. i will be happy to help. ;)
Hey there, the mod is looking great but I'm using a Triss/Shani retexture so would it be possible to just download the Yen "better skin" retexture? Thanks a lot!
unfortunately the game uses the same pore texture file for Yen, Triss, etc... if the Triss/Shani mod that you are referring to modifies the pore textures then one will override the other depending on your mod folder list order. Many re-textures don't touch the pore texture file (which is stored separately from the character skin textures) so my mod might likely be compatible.
Zhoken, the skin pores are already improved by professional modder Denroth in his mod "4k reworked woman", there is an optional file that improved pores for all NPC, and also he continues to work on improving.

Nnote of caution to users of the HDReworkedProject, this does cause a conflict that is not able to be merged using Script Merger.
Thanks
