Feature Overview (tl;dr below)

The main feature of Way Too Immersive is to modify the vast majority of Objective and Synopsis descriptions in the Quest Journal to be more specific to the task, while [attempting to] only use the narrative presented from the NPC's and objects throughout the world--many quests never present this information in the Journal outside of the narrative that was given to the player while accepting/progressing a quest.

Throughout many play-throughs I have found nearly every quest can be completed without the use of any map or quest objectives presented on the minimap but they were only possible if you could remember exactly what the quest giver told you. All this well thought-out information being presented to Geralt went to waste because so many Objectives were too generic.

This is currently only an alpha version because I have only played through non-DLC while only taking quest paths that mostly align with being a good-natured Witcher ("doing the right thing") and still need to take Geralt on a more self-serving, or even a malevolent, path.

With that said it still may take 100+ hours if you really know what you're doing (previous play-throughs) due to the sheer amount of meta-information removed with this mod and perhaps even longer.

Who is the mod for?
- Those who admonish the overload of meta information in modern day games
- Intuitive players, Do-it-yourself'ers
- Explorer's

Note: this mod is still being developed and will be updated several times over the course of the next few months. Everything works and many edits to Quest Objectives have been made (200+) so as to not have to rely on map meta information but many more edits are still in the works.

Mod conflict warning: mods that change anything to do with the hud/map may conflict with Way Too Immersive and merging this mod with those may make either of the mods stop working.

Q: "Hey, why can't I toggle my minimap?"
A: permanently disabled; if it's toggled on or off in the configuration settings it'll always be off. Don't worry nothing's broken.

Q: "How come I can't access my map?"
A: Because this mod is supposed to be "way too immersive," so I disabled it.

Q: "How will I know where I am going or when a quest has me go a certain direction?"
A: Get a mod that tells you the direction you face. I currently use "Nonintrusive Compass Directions" by Extravagant Aardvark. Be sure to have [the vanilla option] NPC Chatter ON, or it won't display.

Q: "The game no longer notifies me when I found a hidden cave, and many other things."
A: True, this mod does remove those messages. If you can see it, you have found it--no message required.

Q: "Say I just want the updated Quest Objective and I'll decide what meta-information is presented?"
A: Just delete the '\scripts' directory or rename it to '\x_scripts'.

Q: "How will I know what has been changed in the Quest Journal?"
A: All edits are highlighted orange.

Q: "Where do I put this mod?"
A: [Game Directory]\The Witcher 3\Mods\

Q: "Why did you make this?"
A: I have never used any meta information in any open-world game (if possible) and this is one of the better open world games made but severely lacks the correct information in the Quest Journal. So I made it.

Q: "Can I trust this mod to not just present meta information in textual form?"
A: I hope so, many of the edits made where "direct quotes" from quest givers/progressors. Some I had to take a few liberties with, though many of these were things the quest giver would of obviously told Geralt anyways. For example, if someone asked Geralt for help and they mentioned the aggressor "ran that way" or "in the forest we found a lake where we barely escaped" the Objective text will be presented with a noted cardinal direction because the NPC's obviously indicated a direction or could be presented using the environment, such as "just beyond the barn."

Q: "Why are you using a FAQ in the mod description, are you old or something?"
A: Yes, and because this is only a rough draft. =)
