Description
Intro
*****
Welcome to Exotic Arsenal! This is a DLC mod which adds 55 bladed weapons to the game which can be located in chests and shops throughout the world. Diagrams for the weapons can also be obtained which allow more powerful versions to be crafted.
There are currently 28 steel and 27 silver weapons which cover a broad range of categories such as daggers, polearms and practical fantasy. Each category of weapon comes with it's own themed stats and abilities, designed in some cases to influence a specific combat style.

Loot
****
Auto leveled weapons can be found in chests scattered throughout No Man's Land (Velen & White Orchard), Novigrad and Skellige. They typically appear in mid tier chests in addition to vanilla loot. When found, auto leveled weapons will appear in one of the four qualities: common, master, magic and relic. These add to the weapon's basic stats in different ways.

Shops
Blacksmiths' stock both auto leveled weapons and diagrams, what items appear is based on regional drop lists so you'll have to do a bit of traveling to find certain weapons. Diagrams can be spotted easily in stores as they have a green (Witcher) icon background, take note however that they tend to be costly.

Crafting
********
Diagrams are obtained via purchase but can also be obtained by dismantling auto leveled weapons both found and bought. Once learnt, diagrams can be used to craft a superior versions of the weapons which are Witcher quality, have enhanced stats, 3 rune slots and are tailored to your current level.

Weapons + Gameplay
******************
All weapons have been categorized and given stats and abilities that (hopefully) influence a specific combat style. The following section details each of them.

Daggers
Daggers deal very little upfront damage, however critical strikes do extreme damage. As such, daggers are most effective in combat when backstabbing your opponents. Whilst this is difficult to pull off against groups of enemies, one versus one duels are where daggers shine. Being lightweight weapons, daggers also provides a very high stamina regeneration bonus.

Some daggers have stats which aid in reaching your opponents' backs.

Weapons in this category:
Csatar
Sykes
Kestus

Zathyma
Ginuin
Muris

Shortswords
Shortswords are weighted to deal more damage from light attacks, however heavy attacks deal less. Shortswords also provide a small stamina regeneration bonus.

Some shortswords posses powerful enchantments.

Weapons in this category:
Scapher
Takkash
Gaji

Szaras
Anzil
Arbing

Greatswords
Greatswords in general deal greater damage than regular weapons, however heavy and rending attacks are considerably more powerful. Due to their weight wielding a greatsword incurs a stamina regeneration penalty, heavy attacks also cost stamina to perform.

Some greatswords posses powerful enchantments.

Weapons in this category:
Koloye
Crusader
Renzing

Vurq
Silver Crusader
Celara

StilettosStiletto are designed primarily around piercing damage, as such these weapons posses very high armor penetration stats. However due to the fragile nature of these weapons they are only half as durable as regular swords.

Weapons in this category:
Stiletto
Silver Stiletto

Sickles

Sickle attacks wind enemies and stop their stamina from regenerating for a time, as well as this unique trait sickles tend to be more durable than standard weaponry.

Weapons in this category:
Sickle
Silver Sickle

Cleavers

Cleaver weapons are most effective with heavy attacks, where they deal more than usual damage. Light attacks are less damaging however. Cleavers also provide a small stamina and adrenaline generation bonus.

Weapons in this category:
Meat Cleaver
Hachyar

Machetes

Machetes are heavy hacking tools that have a small chance to inflict a bleed-out effect (A permanent heavy bleed until death). Machete also deal enhanced critical damage and are three times as durable as standard weapons, however they reduce stamina regeneration.

Weapons in this category:
Machete
Silver Kukri

Roh
Roh blades are typically enchanted with powerful offensive magic effects. They also provide bonuses to the wielder's elemental abilities.

Weapons in this category:
Bajinn Roh Blade
Silver Roh Blade

Claw Sabres
Claw Sabres cause permanent damage to enemy armour, as well as this they have a chance to cause a light but bloody bleeding effect.

Weapons in this category:
Claw Sabre
Talon Sabre

Jagged

Jagged weapons have a higher chance to cause critical damage as well as cause a critical bleeding effect (A more powerful bleed dealt in 1/4 of the time of a regular bleed)

Weapons in this category:
Jaggat
Serrator

Split

Split weapons are magical blades which have a high chance to temporally reduce enemy armour. Coupled with this effect, split blades also provide a very high sign buff but are slightly less durable than standard weapons.

Weapons in this category:
Spirit
Soul

Naginata

Naginata are lightweight polearms build for crowd control, they provide a stamina pool and regeneration boost as well as dealing greater light attack damage. Very effective when used with the whirl ability.

Weapons in this category:
Naginata
Silver Naginata

Kama

Kama weapons do not impede stamina when dodging, as such they are very fitting for an agile combat style.

Weapons in this category:
Kama
Silver Kama

Glaives

Glaives are heavy polearms built for crowd control focusing on knock-back or knock-down effects. Glaives reduce stamina regeneration but offer increased general damage.

Weapons in this category:
Glaive
Silver Glaive

Crescent

Crescent weapons have a high chance to cause a weakening effect that reduce enemy damage for a time. Crescents also offer high bonuses for select sign powers.

Weapons in this category:
Crescent
Silver Crescent

Looped
Looped weapons are lightweight and thus provide a high stamina regeneration bonus. Being easily maneuverable they also do not impede stamina when performing blocks and parries.

Weapons in this category:
Chakram
Luani

Rapiers

Rapier are extremely sharp weapons, they deal armor piercing and have both a higher critical chance and damage. Light attacks are more powerful but heavy attacks are only as effective.

Weapons in this category:
Rapier
Silver Rapier

Tri-blades
Tri-bladed weapons are often richly decorated, and enchanted, which increases the yield of both experience and gold upon slaying a foe. However these weapons have reduced adrenaline generation rate and critical damage.

Weapons in this category:
Ve'Nasolak
Hja'Ven

Wedge
Wedge blades deal high light attack damage and considerably more heavy attack damage. The cleaving might of these weapons also increases the chance to cause critical damage. Being extremely heavy, wedge blades both cost stamina to perform attacks and reduce stamina regeneration.

Weapons in this category:
Orkur
Maltonge

Barbed
Barbed blades are extremely powerful and cruel weapons. They deal very little upfront damage but have a high chance of causing extreme bleeding effects.

Weapons in this category:
Wrisp
Skinner

Spiral
Spiral as a category does not refer to a specific blade shape, but instead is used to classify weapons with unique traits and abilities.

Weapons in this category:
Spinner
Rachis

Technical
Compatibility
*************
As DLC, Exotic Arsenal will not conflict with any other mod. However mods which make significant alterations may disable or cause certain elements of Exotic Arsenal to not function as intended. But with that said, most mods will be fully compatible. Take note though that the item descriptions mod included with the download may require merging.

If you are a GhostMode or W3EE user you can find compatibility patches available to install. Review the addons section for installation instructions.

Installation
************
The following section details installation, upgrading and uninstallation of of the main version. Take note that installation must be done manually as mod organisers do not install DLC correctly.

Fresh install:
Download Exotic Arsenal
Navigate to your "The Witcher 3" directory (typically located here for Steam users: C:\Program Files (x86)\Steam\steamapps\common\The Witcher 3)

Extract the contents of the downloaded zip archive here, making sure DLCExoticArsenal is placed in "The Witcher 3\DLC\" and modExoticArsenal_ItemDescriptions is placed in "The Witcher 3\mods\"
The installation of modExoticArsenal_ItemDescriptions is optional but is highly recommended.

Run script merger to resolve any script conflicts

Installation complete.

Updating:
If you're updating from a previous version, remove all versions of Exotic Arsenal from your DLC and mods folders and follow the instructions for a fresh install. As long as you do not load your game between switching versions you'll keep what ever items you've obtained.
All weapons you currently own will be automatically augmented with their latest stats.

Uninstallation:
Remove both DLCExoticArsenal from your DLC folder and all modExoticArsenal_ from your mods folder. After uninstallation all items and diagrams will be lost upon load.

Addons
******
There are various addons available to augment Exotic Arsenal in various ways. The follwing section details what each does and how to install it.
Rarer Loot/No Loot
Lowers the chance to find weapons or completely removes them from chests. Install and use only one at a time inside "The Witcher 3\mods\".
Doesn't effect GhostMode and W3EE versions.

AMM Support
Adds all Exotic Arsenal's wepons to AMM's steel and silver sword and scabbard sliders.

Before installation it would be a good idea to make a backup of AMM's config file, this is located here:
The Witcher 3\bin\config\r4game\user_config_matrix\pc\
Make a copy of AMM.xml to somewhere safe.

To install, download and extract the Exotic Arsenal AMM zip to your "The Witcher 3" directory. When prompted allow AMM.xml to be overwritten and make sure mod0001AMM_ExoticArsenal is placed inside "The Witcher 3\mods\".

It isn't necessary to merge both AMM scripts, but if you decide to do so allow mod0001AMM_ExoticArsenal to take priority.

GhostMode + W3EE
Support for the two most popular overhauls.

*W3EE users be aware that not all weapon effects work as intended.

Install your respective version inside your "The Witcher 3\mods\" directory.

Shorter Polearms
Model replacement for Naginata and Glaive categories. Significantly reduces the excess shaft on the lower part of the weapon.
Install in "The Witcher 3\mods\".

V1 Meshes
Model and icon replacement which converts weapons back to their V1 appearances.
Install in "The Witcher 3\mods\".
