Can confirm that this mod does not work perfectly with the next-gen update.
It seemed to work at first; most rounds of Gwent I played went fine, but then there was the occasional opponent where the game stalled indefinitely at the start of the round and never showed me my cards. Resetting the game didn't do anything; those particular opponents just could not be challenged. It was confusing, especially since a functional opponent actually used the Triss Scorch card and it worked great.
I uninstalled the mod and played one of the previously glitched-out opponents. They brought out Roach, and it all fell into place. Even if you don't have the Roach card yourself, it seems that it still breaks the game when an opponent has it.
I was hopeful I could use this mod when I read your comment. Unfortunately even after several fresh starts and adjustments to the load order in Vortex later, and still every time I opened the gwent menu (through a game or by pressing 'H') all the cards on the left side were invisible and inaccessible. The mini-game was completely unplayable as you need to add a few cards to play even the introductory game in White Orchard.
This was also the only mod affecting anything to do with gwent or gwent cards in my list of loaded mods. The issue persisted even when it was at the top of the load order, but it fixed the second the mod was removed.
Anyone have an idea of what could be the problem? Or how to fix it if possible?
Ahhh... that makes sense Andarus2. I hadn't even thought about the Roach card causing issues.
I wonder if this mod will be fixed to work with next gen and the new roach card then? It's a wonderful idea, and I always wondered why Yen had a special ability but Triss didn't.
I've always wondered why Triss got no power in Gwent, looks like your mod is doing her justice :) . Thank you! For a more balanced version, would you consider making her a morale boost version?
Request for another version (set of versions, if you wanna be complete about it): Triss should, herself, be a ranged card IMO. not that it makes much difference mechanically since she's a hero. But thematically, it's better imo. Personally I use the siege scorch version, so if you just wanna make that one version even, I'd very much appreciate it.
Feedback is always appreciated! The card may be a bit imbalanced for some people but I feel modders serve the community best by giving people all options, not just balanced ones.
