i am having a little problem with the mod. I posted it here as it is not a "classical" bug, but annoying, nevertheless. I am using "Keybinding for Torch - No Bootstrap version".
When the 2 available "quick slots" or "pocket slots" are in use with different items (Keira's lamp, Hjalmar's Horn...), as far as I pull out the torch with the key bind. The game shows the "Torch icon" in the bottom left screen, as if it would be equipped via Menu. To change again to my other two quick items, I have to go to the radial menu again, and select it. Then the torch icon is gone and everything is working againg. It is really annoying to do this everytime. A fix would be essential, to make this mod fully useable.
However, I love the idea of that mod. With only 2 quick slots available, it was always annoying to go to the menu to change things. Especially when you are using "Shields" mod, that adds even more quick slot items. Thanks for your mod, I hope you can fix it.
Greetings Thomas
EDIT: Please continue with this mod, it has soooo many potential. Please make at least a keybind for the magic lamp! Thank you in advance, hoping to hearing from you.
Hi Thomas, Thank you for your feedback. I will do a rework as soon as I have completed another W3 project on that I'm currently working that should hopefully make modding such minor changes like keybindings and bugfixes for 3p mods simpler.
Can confirm this problem.. I'm using the v0.2.0 No Dependencies version of this mod The problem in @Moahofer30 words:
*After using KeybindTorch* To change again to my other two quick items, I have to go to the radial menu again, and select
To "kinda" Remedy this constant changing in Radial menu, you can use FRIENDLY HUD's SwitchCrossbow functionality.. so that you dont have to go to radial menu everytime you use the TorchKeybind.. instead of going to Radial menu again.. You can just Press SwitchCrossbow keybind to cycle to another QuickSlot Item.. It really works great! ALSO to extend Fhud's SwitchCrossbow functionality, you could use this mod Quick Access Pocket Items (Friendly HUD extender) allows the SwitchCrossbow to also switch an item in your pockets.. using that mod, you could cycle through ~~CrossBow~~Bombs~~LeftPocketSlot~~ using 1Keybind
NOTE: the default Keybind of Fhud's SwitchCrossbow is Tilde "~".. so if you use EnableConsole then theres a conflict.. To solve this, I personally changed SwitchCrossbow keybind to quickpress "X".. then changed the SpawnHorse keybind to longpress "X"
heres my keybinds: IK_X=(Action=SpawnHorse,State=Duration,IdleTime=0.3) IK_X=(Action=SwitchCrossbow) IK_C=(Action=IgniteTorch)
Great mod! Endorsed! Please continue development of it and like Moahofer30 said, A keybind for the Lamp or a tutorial for a custom item would be great!
I cannot even have that mod work for me even if I dont see any script error (I mean manual script) , the mod shows the menu in mods in the game but it does not want to work
To understand the problem I would need to know which of the three mods you mean, what input method you use, and what you mean by "manual script". The keybinding mods themselves don't have ingame menus.
Wow, this is just what I have been waiting for. I have two questions:
1. Is it necessary to have the item I want to use (Torch) in one of the two pocket slots, or is it enough to have it in the inventory?
2. I am using Unification Patch 1.32 as it works fine for me and I never felt the need to use Community Patch - Base or Bootstrap. Do I need them or can I just use it with U-Patch???
For further keybinds, I would love to see the "Magical Lamp" included, as I use another mod, that makes it more useful as a lamp.
1. You don't need to equip it in any slot. The mod temporarily replaces the equipped item as long as the torch burns. I might add an additional trigger so that the current quick slot items still work during that period. 2. In theory, U-Patch should also work but I guess there is a reason they "STRONGLY recommended to install the Community Patch - Base mod" for the bootstrap mod. 3. I might add other variants such as the Magical Lamp once I've tested these ones for a while. I might also add a mod that offers a quick repair. That is another thing I dislike; during combat, browsing through your items to find the repair kits. 4. May I ask what input device you primarily use; keyboard/mouse or gamepad?
Thanks for your reply, I am using Keyboard and mouse. Okay, so you think I could try it with U-Patch and Bootstrap? Without Bootstrap it won't work right?
Maybe there are some comments on this topic in the bootstrap mod page. Without bootstrap, it currently won't work, but it is no effort to create a variant that doesn't need either of them installed. Check the mod page in the coming days.
Wow, that would be great. A version that doesn't need bootstrap or Community Patch - Base would be a heavenly gift :). I would be eternally grateful for such a mod. Will keep my eyes on this in the next days :). Thank you so much.
I like the way you did it, but Invisible Weapons should work without that copy-pasted chunk of my code, you only need to re-equip(mount) the weapons to make 'em appear.
I tried to make it more immersive when the Witcher has the weapon in his hand. You are right that it currently is more a workaround and not very sophisticated. Maybe I should have asked you, before publishing this one. Sorry about that. I will take it offline if you ask. Otherwise, feel free to integrate the effect not only on equipment but also unequipment.

I will like your work anyways, novel ideas!
