ok I bit the bullet and applied this mod to my EXISTING, NEXT-GEN savegame this afternoon. it seems to mostly work? so far I've only tried running the "grrUpgradeSafe" command. I have not yet tried the "grrUpgradeRisky."
"grrUpgradeSafe" has mostly worked. my Northern deck now has 3 separate Kaedweni siege experts, 2 'extra' different Poor Fcking infantry, and 3 separate Crinfrid Reavers hunters. those are all correct. however, my Blue Stripes commandos are still stacked with the 1 original picture. gwent itself seems to play out just fine with my computer opponents playing the 'new' cards from their own decks without incident.
EDIT I made a backup of my savegames and decided to try running the "grrUpgradeRisky" command. it appears to work thus far. I've now got separate siege experts, separate infantry, separate hunters, and separate commandos. I've also got the 1 extra Siege Tower which is fine. it can be kept in the deck or not and doesn't affect your card collection. I think this mod is safe to use. but please don't quote me if it's not lol...
MORE EDIT I found a solution to a potential issue. when I originally tested the mod I only had the 1st Catapult in my deck. when I eventually found the 2nd Catapult for sale, I noticed that it unfortunately had the same picture as the one already in my deck, so I bought it for the sake of collection. keep in mind this is AFTER using the "Risky" upgrade method. and all the other cards were fine. so I decided to run the "Safe" upgrade method and see what happened. so at this point I've run the "Risky" command followed by the "Safe" command after collecting additional cards. thankfully it worked as intended. it successfully 'upgraded' my 2nd Catapult with its own unique picture from the 1st Catapult without affecting any other cards in the deck or my total card count... awesome!
I wouldn't recommend keep using the mod as Gwent manager completely breaks when one of the new GOG cards(Geralt Ciri or Roach) are added to the deck. It corrupted one of my saves. I'm gonna try to update the mod and upload it soon-ish seeing that the author unfortunately deactivated their account.
Hey, I fixed my save with the updated version of the mod. It seems like gwentmanager breaks when it tries to fetch information of a card that seemingly doesn't exist in the XML or gwintmanager.ws file (i.e the new gog cards).
I'll be honest; I haven't run into any problems yet but I understand the risk I took. for what it's worth, I'll uninstall this 'outdated' version of the mod and install an 'updated' version before I start my New Game+ in the near future. right now I'm still on my first playthrough. up to this point I'm having zero problems with Gwent. I've come across the new GOG cards and have no issues with any of the others. maybe I got lucky?
Hey! I updated the mod, unfortunately the original author of this mod has closed their account, however the set permissions does allow me to update their mod. https://www.nexusmods.com/witcher3/mods/7706
can I get some help here?, when i use the "safe" option, cards "unstack" but only get textures for the Kaedweni Siege Expert, and when I use "risky", cards desapear
Here is the patch in case someone else needs it or just want to try: https://www38.zippyshare.com/v/uOHrJX0L/file.html (mod0GwentRestoreRewritten_PatchAutoUpgrades.zip) WARNING: This patch run automatically the function grrUpgradeRisky, which is NOT backward-compatible for your following saves! Read carefully documentation from "Gwent restoring... rewritten" mod webpage for more details.
To mod author: feel free to integrate the patch to your own mod if you want to (maybe with optional mod menu to have it disabled by default?)
And thank you again for the nice mod. Gwent is really amazing mini-game on W3 and deserves some attention.
Thank you for your contribution, I added it as Optional download. There were some reasons that I didn't want any auto-magic, but I do not remember it But this should be helpful for many people, I think that many users is not familiarized with console.

Can you add the functions (grrUpgradeSafe & grrUpgradeRisky) to run automatically every time the gwint menu is opened? (for automatic refreshing)
