Why would we want to use this? - I like to know my game is saving ok This is for those doing gameplay videos & screenshots who don't want the save indicator fouling the scene. It's also for immersion purists such as myself who don't want anything that distracts from the world. - just turn the hud off / turn auto save up to the longest save time
I think of it this way – notifications on the screen are meant to call your attention away from what you're doing. Just like alerts you get on your phone or PC.
Many of the game's notifications – quest updates, items looted, etc. – are useful and important.
But I don't need to know every time the game has saved. It's just "noise", really. So I don't need that save icon appearing constantly and telling my eyes/brain, "hey, stop what you're focused on and look over here!".
