This Standalone version can be used with the vanilla version and solves many bugs in the Hairworks version and improves the appearance of the non-Hairworks version, but some vanilla textures (eg the beard) are too dark, so it does not remove the "blackbeard" effect "but it greatly improves the light / shadow transition in the various locations of the game. To have a more uniform appearance of beard and hair install the "The Butcher of Blaviken - Lore Friendly Geralt"
Some considerations
This mod is a piece of the Butcher of Blaviken mod that modifies the whole aspect of Geralt, including the textures that include the scalp and the beard. Without these changes to the texture some hairstyles may appear broken due to the too dark color of the scalp and the base of the beard (I could not integrate them in this mod because the texture in question would also change the face of Geralt and limit the use of the mods of Gearlt). To get a uniform aspect of beard and hair my advice is to install TBOB + RHaB file (which contains modifications of RHandb mod but adapted to TBOBMOD)
Great mod, the shading was unbearable indoors with RT, now it looks great.
Even non-HW hair indoors looks terrible, like the lighting is getting fully absorbed by parts of the hair. Unfortunately if I use 'HW on everything but Geralt' it gives Geralt the vanilla version instead of this mod's version, so HW it is for now. Once I get sick of looking at Geralt's shampoo model hair, maybe I'll try to figure out how to combine the mods.
Stopped working after I downloaded https://www.nexusmods.com/witcher3/mods/4400 Deleted said mod, and it still wasn't working. Tried verifying my files with no luck either. Any advice?
Did CDPR change the beard mesh with the next-gen version of the game? The last-gen version of this mod has a pretty different-looking beard compared to the next-gen version.
I never comment on mods but I gotta say this is the best mod for the entire game for a person like myself that focuses alot on the tiny details, I was going insane looking at the old hair textures, from the bottom of my heart THANK YOU !
Using the main file on a next gen game... Hair and beard look fantastic... until sometimes, I get a few strands of hair on the back of my head that swing around like helicopter blades. It's hysterical. But also, very off-putting. I don't know if that's a typical Hairworks bug, or caused by this outdated mod.

There was a bug in version 4.0 that caused this during updating to Next Gen
EDIT: Nvm, found it under Butcher of Blaviken.
