Version 0.8 is released with a lot of overall stability and compatibility improvements.

Please see the changelog for details.

This is the first release that also supports Steam Proton installations on Linux, check out the GitHub repo if that's relevant for you.

This will also be the last "big" update for The Witcher 3 Mod Manager from me. Big thanks to stefan3372 for creating this tool and thank you all for the support!

Okay, I had a weird issue with the manager.

I'm not posting it in the forums because this is more of a heads up than a cry for help.

So, I had been modding without a manager, just making do with the mods folder, and renaming some mods to give them load order priority.

Anyway, I thought I should get with the times and utilize a mod manager.

When I got to merging my mods with the standalone app, I ran into some problems, and left a forum post afterwards:

    https://www.nexusmods.com/witcher3/mods/484/?tab=forum&topic_id=14449863

Now, after posting that, I attempted to run the game through the Manager, trying to see if the merging issue did anything or not.

When I loaded into my game, at least 3 of the mods I had just didn't appear. (I didn't look deeper because I knew the mods worked without the Manager.)

Oddly, or maybe not, I'm new to modding, One of my mods was active. The one for the Deus Ex sunglasses.

So yeah, just posting this here to notify people this may be an issue for them.

However, I may just be really unlucky with Managers. I tried modding DAI too, and although the manager worked, it refused to load my mods...

    Good luck!

Is it necessary to launch the game via the option provided by the mod manager instead of launching through Steam? Steam doesn't recognize that the game is running when I use the manager so I can't get achievements. Mods seem to be working when launching through Steam but I can't yet test them all and I'm unsure if not using the mod manager will affect some mods' functionality. Thanks :)

It's just a shortcut button to run the game without Steam or GOG, not "run game with mods".
So you can safely run through Steam.

i dont have The Witcher 3.exe since CDPR changed how it launches to a seperate launcher, so is this mod manager completely useless to me then?

You should have one in the Bin/x64 or Bin/x64_dx12.
You can try the red launcher otherwise. Also it's not useless.

Voxtex includes dlc now in the load order when enabling mods through it... Does that affect anything since this mod manager only updates the priority for mods, not dlcs..

Load order on DLC does nothing. They always have predefined priority between them and always have the lowest priority to the "Mods" folder, unless they provide original files.

So Vortex includes DLC on the load order is useless.

Vortex gives dlcs higher priority than their respective mods. I have also been adding mods to my current mod list and noticed when I enabled a mod with dlc using the mod manager, the game does not launch while doing it through vortex does. The only difference I've observe between the two process is that mod manager only updates the mods.settings with the added mod (not the dlc) while vortex updates both...

This is not always the case for every mod I enabled through mod manager. I only noticed this after I decided to add mods bit by bit...

As I said. The game doesn't read priority on DLC because they are predefined. It's useless given them priority or putting in higher priority than mods.
Your issue is odd I would say so perhaps that specific mod shouldn't be installed with a mod manager.

Wait, this doesn't use the download with manager button? Oh well.

I've been doing the drag and drop into my mods folder as i am new to modding and its easy for me, but its getting complicated for me as my mod list is growing quickly, i cannot set priority of mods and merging scripts is beyond my experience. If i set this up, will all of my installed mods in my Witcher 3 mods folder automatically transfer over to the manager? What is the process for setting this up? Will i have to reinstall all of my mods?

This Witcher 3 Mod Manager can also help you managing your manual installation. You don't have to transfer all your mod to this mod manager since this tool can set priority to all installed mod (even manually).
And the button "Run Script Merger" is just a shortcut for launching your installed Script Merger, that one may merge all mods as well.

If you need help about the latter, I suggest you joins various witcher discord server and ask question, even "how to use Script Merger" (if someone insult you, report it).

You can backup the entire "Mods", "DLC" (without bob, ep1 and dlc1-dlc20) and "Bin" folders.
Depending on the size, I suggest you put in a external disk. In my own mod list, they are less than 4GB.
