Version 0.8 is released with a lot of overall stability and compatibility improvements.

Please see the changelog for details.

This is the first release that also supports Steam Proton installations on Linux, check out the GitHub repo if that's relevant for you.

This will also be the last "big" update for The Witcher 3 Mod Manager from me. Big thanks to stefan3372 for creating this tool and thank you all for the support!

    TheWitcher3ModManager.exe - System Error

The program can't start because api-ms-win-core-path-|1-1-0.dll is
missing from your computer. Try reinstaling the program to fix this
    problem.

    What should I do ?
    Im using win7 x64

older version 0.7 works but the latest show this error

Does this detect script conflicts?    Do I the need script merger mod?   Will changing the load order be enough?

    Thanks.

You still need Script Merger installed. The Witcher 3 Mod Manager has a shortcut to open any Script Merger you have been set.
Also, changing load order is necessary only if you can't merge conflicts or instructed not to do.

I've noticed that launching the game through the manager doesn't allow steam to track hours played or achievements. Is there any remedy to this?

Installed Mod Manager. Selected the Witcher.exe file and installed about 10 mods (.rar and .zip). Game loads and none of the mods work properly, e.g. skippy skippy only skips logos, FriendlyHUD does no 3D-markers, but hides button prompts. Files were merged.

Seem to me they work properly. It's probably because of wrong mod combination you take, or you forgot to change their setting.

Coming from Fallout 4 modding, if one mod priority is [1] another is [3] and another has no priority set. When there is conflict, which mod overwrites which? in Fallout 4, [3] would overwrite [1], is it the same here? Bit confused between priority vs load order.

In The Witcher 3, priority works in that way:

      • By default, priority order is based on the alphabetical order (numbers, symbol, then letters), if no load order was set. If you see a mod having "mod0", it means it has higher priority and must be in higher priority.
      • Using Script Merger or Witcher 3 Mod Manager, you can put load order number on them and will have higher priority than unnumbered mod. The rule is simple: The Lower is the Number. The Higher is the Priority.
      • Additionally, load order are saved in "mods.setting" file, from Document/The Witcher 3. It's in dependence to the mod folder name (meaning if it's renamed, its load order is removed). You can even disable one mod by adding "~~" at the beginnings or disable all mods by rename "Mods" into "~~Mods".

How can I have the mod manager launch the DirectX12 version?

Edit: I updated to the latest version and I can do it now.

Change the path line of the game exe and select the one from x64_dx12

When I do that it acts as if I didn't do anything and continues launching in DX11. I even tried switching the .exes around but that resulted in error. I reopen the window to choose the game path and it continues opening on the x64 folder every time despite me going into the x64_dx12 folder and clicking its .exe.

If you mean the settings at the top left of the mod manager window, that's where I tried changing the game path from. The first option of the drop-down menu. Every happens as I said in my second post.

It can read mods.settings, but mods that have already been installed cannot. It can only found after reinstalling mods by the mod manager

Those manually installed aren't correctly installed.

Why do you use Vortex AND Witcher 3 Mod Manager!!
That's the problem... don't use Vortex !!! Only install manually or with Witcher 3 Mod Manager.
I would even delete mods.settings since Vortex mess up this files.

Hello, I am new to Witcher modding. Do I need this if I use Vortex?

      It's actually the reverse.
Witcher 3 Mod Manager is recommended but... YOU SHOULD NOT USING VORTEX!
