Version 0.8 is released with a lot of overall stability and compatibility improvements.
Please see the changelog for details.
This is the first release that also supports Steam Proton installations on Linux, check out the GitHub repo if that's relevant for you.
This will also be the last "big" update for The Witcher 3 Mod Manager from me. Big thanks to stefan3372 for creating this tool and thank you all for the support!
I have an issue when launching the game via Steam. I've installed my mods and merged, and resolved the conflicts. When starting the game via the manager, it launches and I can start a new game. However if I try to do the same thing via Steam, the game boots into the menu, however upon starting a new game, it crashes immediately. Anyone know what could be the issue and how to fix it?
I don't know where did you make this assumption, but this tool was already updated for Next Gen and is good enough to manage the game. Much better than Vortex. So drop your doubt and use it. If any problem, don't hesitate to ask.
I came here looking for an answer to that too. Ended up finding out for myself that you can just launch it through Steam. The files are all put in the right place, as if you've done it manually, meaning this tool just manages them from their normal location in the game's Mods folder. This mod manager operates differently from Vortex and MO2, because those two host the mods outside of the game's folders.
Excellent Mod Manager! But it lacks an index like MO2's. After loading many mods, one finds it difficult to find a single mod or two in the crowd. Is there any chance of creating an index for it?? It'll be much appreciated and welcomed!? I appreciate any help you can provide.
Thank you Iceman for your comment. But what do you mean exactly? I've checked the .XML file. But it offers no index facility. Please enlighten me as a noob as to what you mean. Many thanks.

TheWitcher3ModManager.exe - System Error
The program can't start because api-ms-win-core-path-|1-1-0.dll is
missing from your computer. Try reinstaling the program to fix this
problem.
