Hey there - I'm a player, like Ashley, who really enjoys getting to play as a female character using Geralt Doppler. The ideas you two were having here are really exciting - not sure if you continued with it or reached a roadblock. But I'm eager to find a solution for making the female animations more integrated and have slightly different idea:
Would it be possible to modify Geralt's skeleton (changing the position of each bone) to fit the proportions of Ciri's skeleton/model? So that when those Geralt-specific animations play, they're essentially using a female skeleton. I've got a little experience with script modding and Blender - but just not really sure where to start or if it would work. Any help would be absolutely fantastic. :)
Hello there developer, my name is Ashley. I found your mod and was so excited to use it, I really was and I loved it so much but, The animations are made for Geralt and his skeleton, how ever with the Geralt Doppler mod we now have a chance to play as females in the witcher complete with animations and sounds.
but this mod deforms the skeleton for geralts form how ever! using Ciris skeleton or any female in the game for that matter, I could remake these animations for the female model!
I have over 14 years experience with blender,3dmax and other animation programs. I would love to make this female version a reality! please contact me when you are able.
Hi Ashley, what you suggest to do is incredibly amazing! I thank you for that There are already some Ciri/female animations in the game that could be used tho i never went fully through them to see if they fit for added actions, but i did have in plan to work on it and possibly add them.
But your suggestion is even better, to have fresh and this mod specific created animations is just purely fantastic. However i read somewhere that new animations cannot be added to the game for some reason.
That being said i'd love to make this happen as well and i'm willing to provide you asuch help as i can it there actually is a way to add them
Hey Stefan, lets chat then! this sounds great, yeah I know Ciri has a lot of combat animations, Geralt doppler uses them! and they are really cool. now I have another idea if we can't add new animations, lets use the ones for the female NPCS! they are already in game. we might be able to do something there, do you have skype or discord? we can chat there, I am not a shy girl XD
Now that I think about it, we might even be able to re purpose finisher animations to use the female skeleton, there are to ways this could work, 1 the animation is alternating the skeletons used, or 2 changing the skeleton completely when it uses the male animations, as i can see the shoulders get bigger and the neck get smaller.
I know how rigging and animation work but I am unsure of how the witcher does it, i will need to talk with you more on the subject.
I think the best bet will be to use the female NPC animations. I will go to the brothel or tavern and see what i can find.
Okay I can confirm there are female eating and drinking animations in the game, they are used in the brothel and the tavern how ever they are sitting while doing them, this seems to be a problem? there is also an animation like the bend over one used for searching, it's used by the bartender woman. all females in this game do use the same skeletal structure so we don't have to worry about reusing them.
AH WAIT i found it! in the brothel there is a girl walking around and drinking from a goblet then she dropped the goblet! so they do exist already in the games files!
