Added a mod that recolors Triss DLC hair. You can select between two options: Auburn and Dark Red. See the Showcase Section of the mod page for more (visual) information.
Is there a version of the Mod 17 (Noble Outfit) that does not change the hair? I have another mod for the hair I prefer but I really like the outfit you made. Or could I remove one of the files to stop it changing the hair?
First off: great mods! Been enjoying them very much so far :) However, I cannot get Triss Hair recolor mods to work. I'm not a pro at modding but I do know where to place things and I've removed every other mods and still, her appearance is the same. The clothing mods are working splendidly. I've tried everything, DLC on and off of her alternative outfit, her hair just remains the same. Any tips? Many thanks!
Just a minor issue - Theres some funny goings-on happening when you first meet Anna Henrietta with the Blonde hair tweak on during the "The Man from Cintra" quest. Thinking maybe this is due to a change in her hairstyle and the dress shes wearing at that part of game.
Save game is available here https://www.nexusmods.com/witcher3/mods/2394 if you wish to give it a try. Good for a little chuckle
I simply adore green Touissant dress for Triss. Is there a way I can make it work in, well, Touissant? I removed all outfit mods for Triss, and DLC with alternate outfit is disabled, but she appears in epilogue in her standart costume. I suspect it's suppose to happen that way, but maybe there's a chance I can get that dress still? I would be so, so grateful for instructions!
yes indeed, Triss green dress is wonderful. Technically you would be able to have her wear it in toussaint. The easiest way is to force her dress appearance via the consol command (I think it was appearance(triss_dress), but I have not worked on W3 for a long time now and I am not entirely sure. best check on one of the pages with the consol commands). But the issue with the dress is and that would also apply if you changed her default Toussaint appearance file in the game files, that the dress uses a different skelleton. And that means a lot of animations are not supported, inculding I think lying on a couch. So it would all look messed up.
I hope that helps. If you have any additional questions, feel free to ask.
yes it is unfortunate. But unless one can make a .redcloth file for Triss original skelleton file nothing much to do. Except for extracting the .redcloth. But I have not found out how to do that. In fact noone seems to have, although wcc_lite supports it.
ah, I see these numbers have little impact on the color. This hair color is defined by the vertex paint. So I will take a look at the mods to see what values were used.
edit: sry I cannot export the model It was probably made with an early version of the ModKit.
So I'm trying to install Ciri Redone and I'm not quite sure where to put the file. I didnt see any instructions or read me file in the zip file itself, so I'm a bit lost here on where to put them. Would dropping the zip file into Vortex get it working or would I have to do manual installation?
usually my mods are not intended to work with Vortex. As any W3 mod simply put into the mods folder. If this is your first W3 mod, create a mods folder in your game directory. It should look like that [.../] The Witcher 3 Wild Hunt/mods
But if you can drop files into the Vortex (I never tried myself) this should work as well, as long as Vortex supports W3. The mod should then be in the right place.
Hope that helps. If you need additional guidence, be sure to let me know.
I've noticed an issue with the High Quality Faces mod, it causes an infinite loading time upon loading a save when used with this. Any way of solving it? On another note, I saw in a thread below that you said that you can remove the fur by modifying the mod files. How exactly could I do this, what would it require?
Hey, thank you for bringing this to my attention. In most cases an infinite loading screen means you have hit a mod limit (likely to many texture mods). But if this happens with only HQF installed there might be another problem. To which of my files are you reffering? Where does the problem occure?
Yes, you can remove the fur by opening the mod files in a program like Scarens Mod Editor. There you have to go to the e.g. triss.w2ent file. Upon opening you will see all the assets used for that appearance on the right side. Simply remove the fur file. If you need more precise instructions, be sure to head to my modding tutorials I posted here on Nexus. And if there are any additional questions, be sure to get in touch with me.
I did not get the new dlc 17 noble outfit, i rather got a red one which is a textured replacer for Triss : http://i.imgur.com/GoIyVWW.jpg Instead of this : https://staticdelivery.nexusmods.com/mods/952/images/2473-0-1496338845.png Mods folder: http://i.imgur.com/l1UgAU5.png Also installed your standalone hair color replacer for triss but that doesn't work either, same for Yen noble outfit which doesn't work. Using files from new dlc 17 which is 100mb version and everything is installed as per instructions. Please help thanks.
Hi, thank your for contacting me regarding this matter:
as you wrote in your own post, it is called DLC17. This means you have to put it inside the DLC folder of the game and enable it in-game. If I remember correctly there is a readme with the instuctions in the downloaded content. The mod is optional and changes Triss face textures (and the body textures sneaked in as well).
I have no idea though why none of the mentioned mods work at all. Do you have any other mods (merged ones included), that change Yennefer? And the standalone hair color replace is for the DLC hair as far as I know, so you will have to enable the official Triss DLC for that.
If you have installed the DLC properly, go to the DLC section of the main menue, in-game and enable it. Do not enable any other Triss DLC (official or not, but mine is the only one as far as I know). There is only a 0.001 possibility that it does not work
Let me know if everything goes well. Or if you have any additional questions.
Done that already, the dlc17 is in dlc folder and enabled with official dlc app for triss off and your dlc on. What i have found is that when i switch to Ciri and then to Triss with Triss(1,1,1) i get this red outfit if i use storyboard UI and/or spawn NPC Triss i get the desired dlc 17 outfit, but when i play as triss i get the red one.
What i have encountered is that your mod affects npc triss for eg: https://youtu.be/c4lg4pKZ8QY?t=9m39s but not playable triss where i tried from Triss(1,1,1) to Triss(1,1,6) it's her Red outfit. As for Yen no other Yen mods are installed, just your standalone mod. Yen is not affected at all in any form npc or playable.
I need this outfits to affect Playable console characters as well, like your Ciri mod which affects playable Ciri but not NPC Ciri.
Here in this image below Ciri in black outfit is Playable Ciri(Outfit Working as intended) But Ciri as Npc is white outfit, Triss as Npc is also in her desired outfit but as npc, as playable she is in red outfit that submitted yesterday and Yen is not affected in either forms. http://i.imgur.com/fA5zfeb.jpg
As for merges they are only for sbui and immersive camera conflicts just those two mods are merged in those merges.
EDIT: Got ciri working right, Had to toggle her dlc app to ON(My bad) as you can see left one is npc ciri and right one with fur is playable ciri, how can you toggle the fur on and off on playable ciri. http://i.imgur.com/FMmTZ7H.jpg As for triss and Yen, those are unresolved.
If I understand you correctly, you use one of the mods that lets you hide Geralt and then force another character via consol, right? This is not intended by the devs. so the complication would most certainly lay there. I cannot explain why this happens, but my guess would be that this way the forced command ignored the dlc???
I have no idea why this happens and the dlc is not intended to be used in such a way. I think it does not work with Doppler mod either (never tried that one though) If I want to play as Triss I always use Ciri for that. It makes the most fun since Ciri has all the female combat animations. I do that by simply changeing the corresponding appearance files to point to Triss instead of Ciri.
As for everything else: there are numerous reasons why something might not work and most of the time we don't know why. It could be though that it has something to do with the game version (I made Ciri on a very early game version, almost more than a year back), but on the other hand the face rextexture (and the body) for Triss included in DLC17 works for you, which is based on the latest build.
Yen seems to work for others and myself included, so I have no idea where the problem could be hidden. I am very sorry.
You cannot toggle on/off the fur, but you can change her appearance. The fur is the winter appearance. There are some major issues with Ciri though since B&W launched, mostly because Ciri still exists and can be loaded into Toussaint, but the game itself (concering Toussaint) does not know what to do with here. So Ciri can be an issue sometimes.
"If I want to play as Triss I always use Ciri for that. It makes the most fun since Ciri has all the female combat animations. I do that by simply changeing the corresponding appearance files to point to Triss instead of Ciri." : I do the same it's just that i cannot get Triss new appearances on Triss(Swapped from Ciri) when i do but i rather get the red one on Triss which i showed you. So your mod is working as intended but not totally as i want it, it works perfectly fine for NPC as it was made for them.
" I do that by simply changeing the corresponding appearance files to point to Triss instead of Ciri." : How do you do that? Do you mod it or force it via commands like the normal commands to change appearance of playable Triss(Triss switched from Ciri) is Triss(1,1,1) or (1,1,2) upto (1,1,6) which her last appearance. Same goes for Yennefer which is Yennefer(1,1,4).
I can get other mod author's outfits to work on playable Triss,Yennefer both. Like this http://i.imgur.com/Sr8i636.jpg http://i.imgur.com/iWcPqBO.jpg
So only if its feasible can you make standalone versions like these of your mod outfits for playable Triss, Yen and no i am not using Geralt Doppler just our Debug console and it's Extensions.
It's just that you have made the best outfits(Unique) for Triss, Ciri and Yen i just want them on Playable Triss and Yen as Ciri is working correctly.
well, you see, my Triss DLC is made to work how the devs intended DLCs to work. Consol commands on the other hand are not intended to be used. They were for the devs to use while the game was in development, but as a courtesy they left them in-game for us. This can mean though that using them not always works as intended.
If you get other mod authors appearances to work, it is because they simply overwrite exisiting game assets, which is the easiest way to do. But I created every asset as a new unique one and by this way can add entirely new game assets to the game.
I achieve everything by modding game files. I seldomly use any consol commands. Only to change apperances and take a look if the work properly etc.
I can understand that you don't want to overwrite/alter game assets like other modders do, but i wanted that from your mods and i can understand it's against your rules. So i take it as it won't happen and consider this as done, though i still thank you for your hard work you have put into making these mods. I guess i will have to wait for some one else to come up with outfits like you make, thanks again for looking into this.
The simple reason why I do not alter this, is because of the time such a work would consume. And I am not working on W3 since a few months. But you are free to to with it whatever you want for yourself.
Maybe you find out what the reason is why it does not work. My guides might help you a bit.

apologies for getting back to you this late. Were you able to make it work?
If not, can you tell me which hair recolor mod?

vanilla specular color:
Red 161
Green 144
Blue 132
Alpha 187
Mod:
Red 84
Green 53
Blue 38
Alpha 187
you mean as standalone or as part of one of the mods?
It seems different to me. Are you sure you have right values?
https://imgur.com/a/ylWVUPs
I tried to change the values, but nothing has changed with Triss.
If you do not get the right color, maybe you can just slightly darken the color of Your mod (Auburn version).
Thanks for reply and for the time btw :)
