    hi mate.

i wish to use the changes you made to the file, but since i have made changes myself to that file, can you tell me what lines in the geralt_skills file you changed and to what?

i saw you edited this line:
    <attack_power type="mult" min="2.0" />
but you said you made the multiply to 1.5 and this line implies you made rend 2 times stronger.
    so am i misunderstanding things?

      hi

it seems that line multiplies base Rend Damage. and its less than a normal strong attack. so to get 1.5x normal strong attack, I set the value 2 .

      hope it helped.

      yup. pretty helpful.

what multiplier do i need to type in there to have about 1.25 instead of your 1.5?
i dont know the base rend damage....
doing simple math says that if doing a multiplier of 2 to the rend damage means the end damage is 1.5 than the rend base damage is 0.75, which means i need to set the multiplier to 1.65 (to achieve 125% damage).
      am i correct?

to be honest I didn't do the exact math because the function that determines your damage output is unknown ( to me at least). but testing Rend several times I guess it's 75% of normal strong attack. so yes, if you want 125% set it 1.65 or 1.7 .

i have farther question about this -
rend gets stronger the longer you hold the button. you said it's 75% of normal heavy attack, but 75% when? when you just hold the button for half a second or when it's fully charged?
      that's important.

also, since rend it unblockable by humanoids, even those with shields, i am starting to think that it is quit over powered even in vanilla.
i can attack a shielded enemy by just doing weak rends (just hold the button for half a second) over and over again and he's dead in 2 seconds.

it's ~75% when you fully use your stamina. spamming it in vanilla state does very little damage. but yes it's unblockable.
consider Rend is unbreakable. meaning when you are using rend, you are completely vulnerable. so timing is very important. it's Risk & Reward.
For example in bloodborne you have charged attack. it's unblockable (like Rend) , it's unbreakable (like Rend) and it does 2~3x damage.

it's very simple. after you extracted the file you will have 2 folders and witcher3.bms file. in "quickbms folder" you must run reimport.bat . then you're required to select 1-witcher3.bms file 2-patch.bundle file 3- opening "Rend Fix" folder and clicking save.
program replaces files in patch.bundle with files in "Rend Fix" folder.

Ugh. The whole "This Mod will revert all changes other Mods made in geralt_skills.xml" is something I don't approve of. If this mod can just omit that part then I'd happily give it a shot. Rend is kinda pathetic at the moment. But risking losing all my other mods is annoying. Especially since I don't know what mods are applied to the skills xml.

I understand. but the thing you want is out of my skills. but if you know how to mod the game, customizing your file with the file I provided is rather simple. and you can have your previous mods with this one. ( be careful, this file is prone to mess the whole game)
if you want to try this mod. you can backup your patch.bundle. apply the mod. and if anything went wrong you can simply use your backup.

If you like to see which files the mods you have change open The Witcher 3 ...\Wild Hunt\content\patch0\bundles, every mod have its own install and uninstall folder in this location, you can find the xml files within those folders.
