I think it is a reasonable thing that Geralt should be able to open every door by Aard, not only in quests. However it can broke your quests as CDP Red has intended so watch out After all there is a couple times when you made a quest in your way and "secret door" will be close forever and there is a chance of this mod to prove that any door can not act as a barier for Geralt.
I have a little problem, cant eend quest from theft horses with Ciri. I opened doors a few hours ago, and i cant force them to open because they are open DAAA. Quest cant be triggered. There are commands that let you change progress? or completion of some quests. But I don't know details on how to use them, nor do I know how to identify the name for a specific quest or stage to use in a command.
But given this, you could maybe force the game to think you broke the door in this quest. I guess if you went into game files & "dissected" the quest in question, you could see the command triggered, or whatever you could use, upon door breaking at the right time?
I tested it in Novigrad, there are many doors in Novigrad when you press "E" that won't pop up "Locked", and these kind of doors just remain closed after I cast Aard, but those will pop up "Locked", they can be open by the Aard. Is this how this mod work?or just I have got something wrong?
Works great! Binded the key to IK_E=(Action=ForceTheDoorOpen,State=Duration,IdleTime=0.5) and IK_Pad_A_CROSS=(Action=ForceTheDoorOpen,State=Duration,IdleTime=0.5) under [Exploration] now I can open locked doors while holding unlock button in keyboard or gamepad.
Hello I have the 1.31 GOG version, but sadly it isnt working, My keybind to select Aard is 1 but when I press and hold 1 Geralt casts aard but the door remains closed...
same for me - 1.31a GoG GotY, have tried keybind 1, 3, E, and Q, each time Aard attack occurs, but door remains locked. Files merged with no errors, have the backward edition patch to make pre-1.31 mods work for 1.31, still this mod does not function for me. Odd. I've been looking at the code and can't see what is causing it to not work. Everything looks like it should work. Going to keep messing around with the code to see if I can get it to work. It's probably something stupidly simply that I'm overlooking. If I ever do get it working, I'll come back to let you know what worked for me, but if you don't hear back from me, than that means I didn't get it working yet.

I took the original 4.0 playerInput.ws file and added the few lines of code to create the hook. The file ForceTheDoorOpen.ws remains unchanged.
Intallation. Copy to mods, merge, then
Add thes line to your input.settings file which is in Username\Documents\The Witcher 3. Add it under [Exploration] section:
IK_V=(Action=ForceTheDoorOpen,State=Duration,IdleTime=0.5)
Now if you get the message the door is locked press V for a while until you hear a click sound and the door opens.
Tested with Hotfix 2 and it works fine.
