Likely not, since that mod uses its own meshes for everything.

Hey, quick question, does this affect all witchers eyes in game or only Geralt?

Hi, for glowing modular eye, how do I replace the texture? Is it the same if I use the normal glowing eyes?

I really need help. I installed the "Glowing yellow eyes mod (medium)" and replaced the texture.cache with the one from this mod here https://www.nexusmods.com/witcher3/mods/5333 . Once I did this my game kept getting blurry loading screens in between dialogue options in cutscenes. I uninstalled the mod but the issue still keeps happening. My game worked perfectly fine before installing this one mod. Uninstalling it doesn't even fix this issue. Please help.

i don't know what mods you installed or how many they are but that blurry is a sign that you're almost at the max of mod vanilla limit, i have that same problem before after installing 50+ mods mostly texture aka beautification mods those are large files that need to be on top of your load order if not you will got some blurry in some scenes like when buying to a merchant etc. use patcher of this mod Mod limit fix to increase your limit, as of now i have 100+ mods with no problem like yours good luck

The long loading screen he experienced is because he replaced the texture.cache with another that did not contain the texture used by thr glowing eyes, so the game searchs and searchs for the texture (the long loading screen) and does not find it.

Okay, well maybe I'm misunderstanding and you can help me realize my errors. I thought the "Glowing Witcher Eyes" mod was compatible with other eye texture mods out there based on the description. I believed all you had to do was replace the texture.cache with whatever other eye mod you wanted. This actually worked, as I noticed the difference in game. My original eye mod, started to glow after I downloaded your mod. It's just now the cutscenes are blurred and take forever to load. Even when I uninstall all eye mods, the problem still persist. I really don't get how this could be happening?

Nevermind. I think as of now, I got it working again. I think it does have something to do with to many heavy texture.cache files in the mod folder. I had to move some around. I still don't really understand it to be honest. I'm sorry for bothering you and thanks for the help.

It's compatible in that it doesn't change any textures present in the vanilla game (which is what most texture mods for Witcher eyes are modifying), but it does contain its own texture, namely that of the "eye_mask", which basically tells the game what part of the eye should be glowing. Switching out the texture.cache in this mod removes that mask, meaning the modified eyeball mesh is trying to find a texture that no longer exists, causing your problem in this case. If you want to use another eye mod that contains textures, you can use it alongside this one, but you can't switch out the texture.cache from this mod for one from a different one.

No matter how many times I reinstall the game, the eyes won't work. I simply have the default eyes even though I have the mod installed. Any idea how I can fix it?

PS. I am using it in combination with Brutal Face 2,0

Tried that, but still the eyes don't change. I even removed all the mods that affect Geralt's face in any way and tried using only this mod but even that doesn't seem to work. Even adjusting the priority doesn't change anyhting.

PS: I also have Modular eyes installed and that mod works fine. However, I installed modular eyes after glowing eyes, since I thought I would be able to get glowing eyes working with the modular eyes mod.

Okay, thank you for your response. I am stupid, I kept installing the normal eyes mod even tough I adjusted every in modular eyes correctly. The issue was that I didn't see the optional download for modular eyes.

Depends on what you mean by original. You choose the color, then the intensity.
the Author Preset is an orange that is slightly more yellow.

For those, who could not quite manage to change the modular eyes' glow colour using the methods mentioned on this forum. Here is what worked for me!

    1.      Download Wolven Kit 7.0.5 from github (https://github.com/WolvenKit/WolvenKit-7), Modkit (https://www.nexusmods.com/witcher3/mods/3173) and Gcc_lite GUI (https://www.nexusmods.com/witcher3/mods/3332) from Nexus mods
    2.      When launching Gcc_lite GUI set the path to gcc_lite.exe (when prompted), which will be in the Modkit folder (something like this: \Witcher 3 Mod Tools\bin\x64, wherever you installed your modkit)
    3.      When using Gcc_lite GUI pick the “Uncook” function from the list, set your input directory (indir) to the “content” folder inside
the Scoutbr0's glowingmodulareyes mod, and your output directory (outdir) to wherever you like your
files to be, then press “run command” at the top – the uncooked files must contain a bunch of tga and xmb files
    4.      Now launch WolvenKit and create a new project. Copy your uncooked mod (THE WHOLE PATH, copy the whole dlc folder: “dlc\dlcmodulareyes\data\model”) to the UNCOOKED subfolder in the Mod folder, so it will look like this: “YourProject\files\Mod\Uncooked\dlc\dlcmodulareyes\data\model”
    5.      Now inside the WolvenKit double click on the alt_he_01_mg__geralt.w2mesh file, click on CMaterialInstance #1 (should appear in the window on the right) and check the “properties” window. From there navigate to IstanceParameters -> Colour – here you can change your RGB values to anything you like, thus changing the colour of the glow! Now make sure your changed values are saved by pressing File->Save in the topmost panel
    6.      In the top panel, click project -> pack and install mod. Make sure that three “Mod” boxes are ticked (Pack Bundles,
Generate metadata.store, and Generate Texture Cache). Click Ok and wait till it finishes, might take a few minutes. It should generate four files in total. The mod will be inside your project’s folder in the subfolder called “packed”.
    7.      Copy the mod to the mods folder in the Witcher 3 directory and it is all done! Enjoy your newly coloured glow! :D

Thank you Scoutbr0 for making this amazing mod!

Thanks, it works now! The problem for me was WolvenKit, the right version to use is not on the Nexus but this one: https://github.com/WolvenKit/WolvenKit-7/releases/tag/v7.0.5-74840e0

This post should be pinned! Worked for me as well, thank you. :)

I wanted the yellow preset so to be safe I downloaded that, uncooked it and took the data, which is this, if someone want them:

      Red: 255
      Green: 195
      Blue: 0

Might be a longshot as this is a year old post, but I got lost in the 4th step. Hope somebody could help.

Upon launching WolvenKit.exe and selecting New Project, it prompts me to open a mod file (.w3modproj) - IDK where or what this part is: to the UNCOOKED subfolder in the Mod folder, so it will look like this: “YourProject\files\Mod\Uncooked\dlc\dlcmodulareyes\data\model”

I could open the alt_he_01_mg__geralt.w2mesh file if I select the Open CR2W File and edit/save any changes made in InstanceParameters but I couldn't Pack and Install Mod, the button to do it is greyed out.

Hey man, I've spent half an hour yesterday, stuck on this exact step because I couldn't figure out what to do just like you, but in the end I've managed to understand and make it work. Now I've created the exact colour I wanted. Do you still need help ?

welp, I finally figured things out, opened the file via CR2W but after editing the colors and packing it back up it doesn't make those changes in game which kinda sucks. Un-sure. I'm stuck.

Thank you to @Scoutbr0 for the mod and @Blargle1521 for the tutorial.

A few things that might help those trying to get to work. The numbered steps I refer to are from Blargle1521's original post above.

      • I successfully used the Witcher 3 version of WolvenKit: https://github.com/WolvenKit/WolvenKit-7, not the more up-to-date Cyberpunk 2077 one. Make sure to install any prerequisites specified there.

      • If you are using the Next Gen version of the game, use the most recent uploaded version of Glowing Modular Eyes download.

      • At step 4, you will initially get a popup that has a blank filename for a new project. I suggest naming the new project "glowingmodulareyes" so that the eventual packed mod will be called "modglowingmodulareyes" just like the one you are working from. Save this in a different working directory from your game itself and your downloaded mods. Name the project something different if you don't want to have the same name as the original mod, but the filepaths from here down assume you used the suggested name.

      • This will create both a new WolvenKit project file (glowingmodulareyes.w3modproj) and a new folder (glowingmodulareyes). You can use Windows Explorer to navigate to the \uncooked subfolder in the new project folder you just made: "glowingmodulareyes\files\Mod\Uncooked".

      • Now, here's where I made a mistake and I suspect others might also. See where Blargle1521 has bolded the dlc in “dlc\dlcmodulareyes\data\model”? THIS (dlc) is the folder you copy (with all subfolders) into "glowingmodulareyes\files\Mod\Uncooked". I was making the mistake of only copying "model" (the last part of the path). DON'T DO THIS!

      • Continue with steps 5-7.

      • In 5, see QZoid's note above if you don't see the place to edit the values. Just below the color values, there is a value called color_power, currently set to 3.5, for the brightness. I changed this to 5 to match the "Bright" variant.

      • In 6, the packed project will be located at "glowingmodulareyes\packed\Mods\modglowingmodulareyes".

      • In 7, copy just "modglowingmodulareyes" to your game's mods folder. If prompted to overwrite, saying yes will overwrite any previous mod with that name (for example, the original mod, any previous failed attempts, etc.)
