I was playing around with this, trying to merge it with the slim griffin mod, I managed to get all except the gold on the hood, near the collar, still shows. what did you change to get rid of that gold chainmail? Was it the xml files? the specular color parameter?
Its a work in progress, like I said I haven't been able to get rid of the gold on the hood. If I end up getting it, I might post it with the authors' permission ofcourse
I don't know if I will have the time for the next few days for that request, I can try after the next few days. But I have managed to merge this one with the slim one completely. I will ask for the authors' permission to upload it, and see how it goes.
After installing 30+ different mods my perfectionism spirit had a jumpscare when i noticed that boots are a slightly bit darker then the pants (especially noticable in tier 1-4, in Grandmaster version it's barely noticable but under certain lighting it is) i was digging through all screenshots with a fear i broke my game somehow but seems like it looks exactly as it should be xDD. Also the same stuff related to other witcher armors and non-witcher armors, colour gamma of boots is a bit different compared to pants or armor itself made by CD Project Red designers. It's even kinda realistic though, because obviously in hard 'witching' work boots are probably getting wrecked pretty quickly. So everything is alright. Btw when you DYE your armor it looks exactly as it should be at one spectre of certain colour. I also noticed a little dents on Tier5 Armor on the back and front, very nice detail which adds a small worn effect even on 'new' good looking armor. Was quiet a discovery, well, never late to learn. Still the best Gryphon armor mod on all Nexus in 2022, very good job, i damn love this retexture.
fantastic mod! although i feel it is a bit hard for people to find on the nexus with the name Gryphon instead of Griffin, i feel the endorsements dont reflect how good this re texture and i think you could have more endorsements and downloads just by changing the spelling (:
Seriously, this is GREAT mod. I was looking for some retexture of Griffin armour that removes the golden colour/shine from chainmail AND still works with dyes. And this is just (really nearly) perfect. As others already said below - the only thing missing is matching (gold to steel) scabbards (of griffin swords).
I am glad I've (rather by chance) found it; endorsed. ;-)
If you want a good retexture of the griffin swords, there's a rather nice one included in the mod "Griffin Armour Retexture Witcher on the Path-Style". The swords and scabbards comes separatedly from the retex of the sets so it's perfectly compatible with this one. It matches pretty well.

Only downside is that it doesn't work with Holgar96's slim version of the Griffin set.
But it seems the lesser of two evils...
