So, there is no fps drops with this mod? Cause i have inceased LOD distance mod, and this one took a bit of fps in Novigrad and Oxenfurt, so im worry about adding this one...

There is a performance hit. You have to try it to see how much fps you lose.

I tried having Novigrad Reloaded Full installed and it ate up like 20 fps for me. Only when i was in Novigrad of course.
I also had Misc Stones, Candles, Haystacks, Unoptimized Wall installed and i just uninstalled one by one to find the culprit.

In Novigrad, on mid-range configs, this mod absorbs from 3fps up to 5fps.
There is no drop only on high-end configurations.

the mod authors mods, this and Next Gen Novigrad 2, are heavily incompatible with most other texture mods

you will need to manually merge everything http://forums.cdprojektred.com/forum/en/the-witcher-series/the-witcher-3-wild-hunt/mod-discussions/60972-limit-of-texture-mods

Wow these roads look like bottom of a drained river. When pavers were building roads in real life in the past or in present, they were usually trying to make them as flat as possible this is on the absolutely opposite side of the spectrum. The reloaded version looks much better, still little too much bumpy for a horse or carts, but the texture is way better than vanilla.

    Hi!

I'm tempted to install this MOD because the walls in the screenshots looks fantastic. As some people have mentioned, and with the best of the intentions, I would like to comment that roads are too much bumpy.

Would be possible to have an alternative version with the effect being only in the walls? (or softer in the roads).

I know there might be limitations (I'm working in a video game project), so I understand if this is not possible.

    Thanks!

Wow. You just missed the entire point of a road with that. This is like making a triangular wheel and calling it next gen because it's shiny.

Have you ever seen a rock road? Or any road? Roads are flat by design. People actually make sure that road is as flat as it can possibly be. The entire point of roads is easier traversal. Medieval people weren't retarded. They didn't make rocks stick out of the ground like that. You're supposed to be able to walk on the road and carts are supposed to roll without wheels breaking all the time.
And Novigrad is like the biggest and richest city. Even if they built a terrible road, those rocks would have sunk in over time. This doesn't make any sense.

Your "Novigrad is rich" argument is valid but if you're trying to say that ancient cobblestone roads like how it is presented in this mod does not exist that simply isn't the case. They can be found all over Europe.

I live in Europe. Almost every coastal town in my country has a whole bunch of old medieval structures and roads. Town roads don't look like this anywhere. They're TOWN roads. Made for people to walk on.

      I live in Europe too.

These types of roads might not be super common but they do in fact exist for example where I live (Sweden) and also in countries such as Estonia, Italy, Spain and Switzerland to name a few. You can always just use Google if you don't believe me and think this is just some sort of science fiction or fairytale.

You are however absolutely tight that these types of roads are not comfortable to walk on but they can at least look nice especially when polished sea stones are used.

Yeah, UK resident here, in Canterbury (an old city with cobblestone roads). These roads definitely exist, but the parallax effect for this mod has taken their bumpiness to the extreme. This is the kind of road you would go well out of your way to AVOID walking on, and unless you wanted to snap your cart wheels off you wouldn't roll that along here either.

Mod author - a reduced parallax effect version would be awesome. Visual mods are at their best when they subtly enhance the image, rather than jump out to demand your attention at the cost of all immserion.

I leave in Spain, and I leave really close to a medieval castle with the intact city road under it, in Peñiscola, you can look it up on the internet, Game Of Thrones is filming in this castle the new season (I tried to be an extra but I didn't got selected :´( ) and I can confirm that the road looks just like this mod does.. so your argument BOFVanja is not completely accurate. Sorry for my bad english.

BTW, I've installed the mod and it doesn't work at all, i see the road like in the vanilla edition... don't know why, I'm using parch 1.12

@AlexLas95ES: Only a select few roads have been updated in Electors Square, not all of them (the most nothern part of the city).

you guys see the lines in the middle of the road. thats where the carts are supposed to be. think about it as pre train.

wow. to be rude in that way and miss how its historical ok to have rocky roads.
oh well, thank you boostin1 it looks really great and will surley enhanch my historical correct game when i will replay it. keep up the great work and dont bother the nay sayers.

@astrob0y - Lines? I see one line. Never seen a cart with such a wheel setup. Nevermind the fact that horses and ppl are gonna break their ankles with every step they take.

Look i appreciate the work you put into this.. but those roads are just too much.

@Sieggylee - Hi! My girlfriend works near Margate (Westgate-on-Sea) =D

@Boostin4kix - To clarify, not trying to be rude. It's obviously an awesomely detailed parallax effect. It's just not ideal as a functional road. If this is your preference though and you don't want to make an optional toned-down version, more power to you

Thanks, no offense taken. If it was a parallax effect I would have no problem making a toned down version. Unfortunately this is actually geometry applied to the mesh itself. It might not look like to much but there's actually a ton of files that I would have to redo, that's why I haven't added a toned down version.

I also think that the stones are coming out too much. The mod is not working for some reason but I've seen the screens and also hodilton's recent video with this mod. Would be very vibration prone road for carts. I also think its best to reduce the effect but keep it as it is for the walls. I think this mod will be best that way. Does this mod not work with certain mods? Because I'm seeing no change on my end.

I'll agree with the OP in that the effect is just a touch too much, but bruh... take your nagging and "why did you even make this" elsewhere.
Learn to have some respect, even if your parents never managed to pass that quality on to you. You dont like something? Well, move on and stop acting as if this offends your sense of cobblestone justice.
