Many thanks to the author for the mod, I found it truly invaluable. I was very glad to play a sick fantasy game with no damn spiders in it. But here the developers decided that the game needs a fix and added the things anyway with the Hearts of Stone and Blood & Wine DLCs.
Reading through the discussions and comments I saw that people are uncertain if this mod is something suitable for them or not. From my experience, the arachnomorphs (which are nothing but giant-ass spiders) you might meet anywhere in both of the expansion maps will not look like spiders any longer, but they will still run about like crazy, always keep their distance and spit web at 'ya. Anyhow, works well, doesn't glitch, arachnomorph appearance is changed to what resembles a kikimora model and it stays that way once you slay the dang thing.
Anyhow, in case you are curious whether some important missions require you to defeat arachnomorps in the Hearts of Stone expansion:
When entering Borsoi's house vault in the Open Sesame mission, there is an inevitable trap with spiders inside. But this mod substitutes the appearance of those in the vault as well. Continuing the quest line of Olgierd you will eventually be sent to a certain mansion to retrieve a certain flower. Somewhere in the middle of the quest you'll need to defeat may be 6 big spiders in the mansion garden. These look like a black silhouette of an arachnomorph with dark shadows boiling about them. Something like a game character you haven't unlocked yet. I, taking to running away and screaming like a little girl when I see as much as a picture of a spider, did not find these shadowy ghosts scary. I sliced and diced those with ease and continued on with the quest. No more scawy-scawy arachnomorphs anywhere around this expansion apart from some of the question marks you find on the map.
And in the Blood and Wine expansion arachnomorphs are also present but seemingly in fewer spots. Like one of them caves some merchants will ask you to clear of monsters to use as a wine cellar and a few distant spots on the map.
I thank you for the report, and i'm glad that this mod is helping people out there still. Appreciate the time you took you leave this comment and i hope it will help remove uncertainty and clarify to other players what to expect
Hi guys. Can you please tell me if you can find something similar to replace the scolopendras in the Blood and Wine add-on? Because of them I can not play the game properly(
Apologies for the noob question. I can't find the "mods" folder in the directory following your instructions. I've never installed a mod on Witcher before.
Endregas still made me feel heart palpitations and hard to breathe, is there anyway to remove/replace all the spiders and endregas? I'm not a monster slayer, just a coward game player...
Try this mod here https://www.nexusmods.com/witcher3/mods/4848
It should replace most of the endregas and other insects from the base game with bears. It's a great complement to the no spiders mod. I have both installed and have rarely encountered any insect monsters as a result.
hello dcdunk, i have actually used a slightly different version of endregas for this mod to make it less obvious and bearable for people i have tried different appearances but it sadly didn't give good results and was ore horrible according to other users That said, this is far from being my field, and other modes may succeed in doing so.
unfortunately the mod doesn't work for me or it can also be that you have to do something else than put the mod in the mod folder? Would be very grateful if someone can help me.
