Funny this. I always thought having the screen fade was the 'broken' way of doing things. It's wholly unnecessary. I like that it got fixed in 1.12.

I don't know if I forget to thank you in your previous mod page, but anyway thank you for this mod, I like the improved fade effect.

You're welcome . I knew some players liked the improved (fixed) effect so that's why I decided to make this mod.

I read your comment above and I am interested in part "to give the impression that time passed while Geralt worked on his equipment". Can you actually make the time passes when Geralt enhances his equipment, maybe like 5 or 15 minutes?

It's a really small change but I can. 15 minutes in-game is 1 minute in real life. It's barely noticeable but if you upgrade both armor and weapons, then 30 minutes would have passed in-game. If you think 15 minutes sounds realistic enough then let me know and I'll put an update with that change.

I went ahead made the change. The updated mod (v1.1.0) now advances time by 15 minutes in-game.

15 minutes is okay and realistic for me, and it works fine in my game. Thank you again

Hey i apreciate your work whatever this mod does, the time to make a mod page must always be apreciated.
Anyway what does Screen Fade mean i never noticed something like that in previous game version? what does exactly this mod reintroduce in game?

The screen used to blank out to black for about a second whenever you enhanced your weapons or armour at any grindstone or amourtable. It's a special effect, essentially, to give the impression that time passed while Geralt worked on his equipment. In the vanilla game it felt really broken and annoying so my other mod offered two options to either remove the effect or to fix it.

The 1.12 patch removed the broken fade effect (which is good) so that means any persons who used my previous mod to remove the broken effect no longer needed to use that mod anymore. There were some players however like me who used the "fixed" option, so to avoid confusing the persons who had the option of the old mod installed which fixed the effect, I decided to move that option to its own mod.

This is a really minor mod, so If you are a player that never noticed the effect then you don't need to use this mod. You're free to install it of course but it really doesn't change much. I use it cause I liked the old (fixed) effect.

hey thank you now i understand what does it do, but yeah i never enchanged a weapon lol i just go on killing everything i find and try to enjoy the story so i never noticed it XD
I think CDprojekt authors removed the black screen after enchanging to fix the bug faster but yours is a good solution actually and would be better with an animation for geralt cuz he is always in the same position for 15/30 min while working on a weapon is unrealistic lol

This mod makes no sense i mean like why would you bring back a bug?

This is the fixed fade effect. I made this for persons who want to keep the fixed effect. This is NOT the broken version that was in the vanilla game!

i don't think the fade effect was ever intended - so I would agree with @Zhitdk, it is a bug that you are patching back into the game. But that is just my opinion.

That's okay man. I knew not everyone would want it back. I liked the fixed version so I use it in my playthrough. Thanks for sharing your thoughts.

This screen fade thing was never supposed to happen, this is why it was fixed in 1.12.

Why on earth would you want the screen fade???

What is even more puzzling is the fact that you have another mod in which the fade is removed, and in which you admit how pointless it is...

I made this mod because some people may still want the improved fade effect, as the other mod provided options to either fix the fade effect or remove it entirely. Please read the description of why I made this mod on the other mod page! That's why I stated in the description of my other mod that persons who used option 2 (which removed the effect) can now uninstall it.

This mod is for persons who want to keep the (improved) fade effect.
