Good afternoon. I decided to try your mod. And this is what is happening.I have a Gwentredux mod installed. Upon receipt of the Ciri card in the deck, two cards of Ciri become.
I don't use Gwent Redux, but it sounds like that mod alters the name/ID of the Ciri card. My mod removes the old Ciri and replaces it with the new one. But if another mod changes the name/ID, then my mod won't be able to remove the old one.
I'm sorry, but I have no plans to make a version for classic. I already answered this on the Description tab, but I'll expound for context.
The reason I said no to classic is because all the relevant files already exist in the next-gen edition. My mod simply unlocks them and manages the cards so that the player doesn't have to do it using console commands. In order to make this work with classic, I would need to bring the xmls, scripts, and textures over to classic, and modify them for compatibility. That would mean it could not be DLC-only, which, in addition to the effort involved in making it, would also introduce numerous conflicts with other mods that edit those same files. For these reasons, I am not planning to make a version for classic.
Any mod that gives me the ability to use the content that is already in the game I payed for, without needing to have meat special out-game requirements, is a must have.
I remember when NG first came out I had this card. Then I started a new game and idk wtf happened, it just vanished forever. Thank you so much for this mod :)
Quick, question. I read your conflicts section, but I have to ask. How does this mod interact with mods that change Gwent cards abilities? I have a mod that already changes Geralt, Ciri, and Roach's stats. Will this overwrite them? If so, what file should I remove so that I only have Roach in the deck, but not changing Geralt or Ciri's abilities? Thanks man.
This mod does not change Geralt's or Ciri's abilities. The thing to understand is that there are 2 Geralt and 2 Ciri cards:
gwint_card_geralt <--- this is standard
gwint_card_gog_geralt <--- this is special, intended to be used with Roach
gwint_card_ciri <--- this is standard
gwint_card_gog_ciri <--- this is special, intended to be used with Roach
As you can see, the ones with "gog" in the name were added to the next-gen version. They are identical to the standard version in every way except that they summon Roach whereas standard does not. What this mod does is swap out the standard cards with the "gog" version of the cards. The game does this automatically if you acquired Roach via the normal method (linked account and played Gwent standalone).
Now, what I don't know from your message is whether the mod author set the attributes for both versions of the Geralt and Ciri cards to match each other. Ideally, when they altered the standard Geralt, they should also have altered the "gog" Geralt. Same with Ciri. If they did that, then you won't know the difference -- this mod will swap the cards and it will continue to function exactly as you're accustomed. However, if they only altered the standard cards and not the "gog" cards, then you will notice a difference. In that case, I wouldn't recommend to use my mod. My mod automates the swapping of Geralt and Ciri so there is no way to bypass it. What I would suggest instead is to manually add Roach to your deck. That way your Geralt and Ciri cards will continue to work as you're accustomed to. The console command for Roach is:
additem(gwint_card_roach)
You only have to do that once. When you save, it will be permanently in your deck.
So what I did for my mod is I actually added the summon_clones ability to Geralt and Ciri in order to summon Roach on the original cards. And I did find 2 different Geralts and Ciris as well and did the same for them, but I wasn't sure at the time what the difference between the two was. But as you know, Roach wasn't available, so they summoned nothing lol, but they still have the ability to do so, as well as other abilities. But I just wanted to make sure, you're only swapping the regular to the gog right? Meaning all their abilities that I added will stay intact? Geralt index 7 and 26 in the gwint.xml file. Both have identical stats in my mod. I didn't see one with specifically a gog in the name though.
Yes, correct. This mod does not touch the xml. Card 26 is the "gog" card. If you have both of them with the same values, it will work the way you designed them.
Never launch Gwent standalone game, just bought Thronebreaker. And I still get Roach card. No idea how, something I did about REDlauncher or GOG doing magic trick. I really don't know, and I thought everyone have that card by default.
Now that it is clear I'm wrong. I'll add your mod in the Essential Mod List. Thank you Paul.
As one of the lucky ones who underwent this whole process to gain that cards, I'm glad that someone made this a mod for all of us. I must admit, I thought CDPR would make this another DLC due to the birthday, but well, the community has you, to fill the gap.

Sorry for the hassle questions.

Thank you for your work!
