But jokes aside. To be fair, I don't how the images look on your screen, but it should be clear that basically her entire face has changed. Eyeliner gut reduced, Lipstick got changed, her skin is less red and has more texture to it, her lips are more defined too. Her scare is almost healed. Honestly, how have you missed that detail? But even if all that is not noticible on your screen, how could you not see ther eyebrows being blond? xDDD
If you want to look at it yourself, I have added an image for comparison.
Bro,my apologize,I haven't played witcher3 for several years, and now I'm going to collect MODS for re-playing. It would be great if you could make a comparison chart。
Thanks for letting me know. Face textures are the same resolution as vanilla 4.04. Just the eye texture is of lower resolution, with 512p instead of 1024p. What do the rules say in that situation? Tbh, I wasn't sure if I should change this. But I decided against it, as I wanted to keep the mod as original as possible and only make it next gen compatible, with support for all apearances being the only addition to it, aka the only deviation from the original. I guess I'll uncheck that box then. 👍
(Maybe I am just overthinking things again, but) I could fix that by changing the resolution, but that wouldn't change the effectively seen resolution but just the file size. To get more details, the texture would need to get properly upscaled, which I never did before. Or AI upscaled, which to me feels like cheating. Even more then just changing the resolution. Or I could remove the Eye texture entirely, but then it wouldn't be a port of the original anymore, but a selection or so. (Although, since I have cooked the original mod plus the previously missed faces into one file, I have to admit the point of this still being "original" could already be debatable.)
Edit: The check box just says "This mod works with the Next-Gen update (December 2022)". I am not sure if I shouldn't technically recheck it because of that.
You should not follow the rule "if it works on Next Gen, then it's compatible". Then majority of mods are but bring many bugs/problems because they will remove some Next Gen features, thus they are actually not up to date for the Next Gen 4.04 version.
Texture is the exception ; a smaller resolution can bring higher quality which is fine. But playing on 4K monitor can noticeably see it. I advise using an AI Upscaling with hand edit to the Next Gen files, so the quality isn't lost. I trust you it's being Next Gen Compatible, but not 100%. So good job on this.
I know that there is a difference being compatible and just working. That's especially important for script mods. And if this was the original resolution of classic edition, I admit, I too wouldn't count this as "next gen compatible". But without this connection, since I can also simply down scale vanilla next gen textures and they are still compatible, I would only count it as incompatible when a texture is under a certain resolution under which the game can't apply the textures poroperly onto the model anymore. For that matter, this mod is 100% next gen compatible. (Like mentioned, same resolution in face textures, just the eyes are of lower resolution.)
But according to your description of what counts as next gen compatible here on Nexus, I totally agree with you. I wouldn't count this mod as "marked as next gen compatible"-worthy too. That's just a "rules are rules" thing. (Though, if I may be so bold, here I might actually blame the precise wording on the checkbox on the mod manager page for this confusion.)
You are right, AI in combination with human input can lead to great results and in terms of propperly porting the mod, it could count as a restauration in this case. But I have never used such tools and don't know wheather I'm skilled/quailfied enough, to do these manuall edits afterwards (I'm no artist), as I don't want the mod to deviate too much from the original. So I guess this checkbox stays unchecked for now ^^ And true, a higher resolution monitor reveals finer details on the same pov. Although this also depends on the monitors size and your distance to it. But that's another topic.

And why are you still yelling?
I mean, that's the condition for a texture mod to be "Next Gen Compatible".
