10/12/2011: I will no longer be updating this mod or routinely checking in to answer questions. If its urgent, like fixing a broken link/file, shoot me a PM and I will still take care of it. Thank you for the support and endorsements.
This mod seems to be compatible with the latest patch (1.3) so far. Thank you to Corlan for posting. I have not had any issues either so from what I'm hearing, texture based mods should all be okay.
Added an optional version of the main armor without the sun on the hood as a request in the comments. Options are always great to have and I'm always willing to do small requests/changes so feel free to post if you have an idea.
Added a retexture of the "Mage's Trousers."
DESCRIPTION:
You may need Patch 1.2 (for the Blue Stripes armor or Mage's Trousers) or the DLC for them.
This is a Nilfgaardian Empire themed retexture. It replaces the "Blue Stripes Combat Jacket" texture because I used it as a base. Until we can edit .w2ent files, it has to overwrite the Blue Stripes armor. But I included files that allow the replacement of the "Armor of Loc Muinne" and "Armor of Ban Ard." You can obviously only use one of the two provided.
I included more in-depth instructions in the readme. Its also easy enough to just use my texture and edit the def_item_armor file yourself to replace any other armor you choose etc.
I know everyone is suppose to hate Nilfgaard, especially if you read the books, but I really liked their iconography so I made this. If you want some sort or lore-friendly explanation you can say that its a trophy armor or some such.
I should also mention that I cannot find a way to get my edited normals and specular textures to take effect in-game. So in certain lighting you may see the small Temerian lilies on the patch. Its hardly noticeable but I thought I should mention it.
INSTALLATION:
Choose which replacer you would like and drop the "CookedPC" folder in your TW2 main directory.
If you already have a def_item_armor file in your CookedPC\items folder then either back that up and replace it with mine or edit it manually to reflect the changes I made.
UNINSTALL:
Remove "geralt__b30.xbm" from: CookedPC\characters\player\model\trunk\heavy_armour folder.
And edit out, remove, or replace the def_item_armor file with the original unedited one I included in your: CookedPC\items folder or the one you backed up.
Thanks,
