I dont know if Its just me but it makes player texture feel like that its made of blocks. You can easily spot this on naked skin on Triss at the beginning of the game.

Those texture blocks you mentioned appear on Geralt's back during conversations. As well as odd shadow behaviour on his hair. I don't know what causes those problems. Maybe a conflict with Anti-Aliasing?
Despite that HBAO is an improvement in my opinion.

It's not anti-aliasing. It's just a thing that will happen if you disable in-game SSAO, no matter what, with no known fix.

I think maybe I can change the specular maps to those processed by HBAO and I will get an effect similar to the HBAO forced by Nvidia Inspector. Then when we turn on SSAO, we actually turn on HBAO and the problem of unwanted effects in cutscenes disappears.

      Hi man!
Any updates regarding this "texture blocks on characters" bug? I've seen few people mentioning this "body blocks" bug.
I also see it when playing the game.
HBAO is a great improvement over basic in-game SSAO, which is way overdone in this game.
Fixing that one problem would make this game look much better.
There's also this Flotsam Inn glitch mentioned by cptscotty a few posts below...
Do you have any plans on going back to your mod and trying to fix those two bugs?

Could you provide a screenshot of what "texture blocks on characters" looks like?

      Sure.
It looks like this -> https://ibb.co/b533L86
      https://ibb.co/Lr1SMN2
      https://ibb.co/SQZyvWp
      https://ibb.co/tLS3FfF

It's not exclusive to this one scene.
You can see it in other scenes as well (mostly visible on characters bodies and faces)
There's also this shadow shimmering effect on faces that you can see while playing, but that's probably the way this game engine works and there's nothing that can be done about it.

I don't know what I did, but it used to happen to me for a while, and now it doesn't.

The comparison pictures of the Flotsam Inn show a bug and thats why they are so different.  Even with Vanilla Witcher 2 if you save in that spot, load back into it, you can get this bug where the atmosphere/foggy lighting goes away.  If you run downstairs and back up again, it fixes itself.  Not sure why its happening

Something to do with the games built in eye-adaptation.  If you are aware of how to disable it, please let me know.  Was hoping for an ENB that took care of it but so far not seeing a way to access that setting.

Disabling the in-game SSAO will always cause the weird "blocky" effect on character's faces, no matter what.

Cool-looking mod. Does this .nip in any way affect vsync or SLI capability? Thank you!

There is only a slight error in the cutscenes, which show connections in the geometry of 3d models (mainly bare shoulders and neck, these joints are not seen on armor or clothes).

    Hi Hub!

Nice job! if you could find the way to get rid of the refered 'body blocks' that you can see on some cutscenes (like the begining one with Triss on the tent) it would be amazing.

HBAO works everywhere, but indeed the original SSAO seems to be more out-of-the-box, however, it is too intense for me. HBAO is more natural, so you can see a smaller difference outside, where there is a large source of light. I will put in screenshots without AO to show the difference.

No, but you can come up with the settings in RadeonMod (https://www.guru3d.com/files-details/amd-registry-editor-download.html) or another program that I can't remember, but it is similar to NvidiaProfileInspector. I can't check myself unless I get the AMD card.
