I'm sorry that it doesn't work for you. If you have other mods installed, have you tried merging them with RED tools? Which version of the game is installed?
I tried it with no other mods installed on version 3.4.4.1. I tried it with your base_scripts.dzip and I tried compiling it myself and both ways causes an error when I try to launch the game. The error message specifically refers to the couple lines of code that are removed from player.ws. The error is the same as the other person was getting: https://imgur.com/a/KIcQm
The issue is that you removed the function for enabling loot, but that function is still being called from other files. If instead of deleting the entire function you just always set ffLootInteractionEnabled = true, this mod would work.
I tried making it so that ffLootInteractionEnabled is always true, and that didn't seem to have any effect. _Maybe_ it helps some of the time, but it certainly doesn't solve the problem in general. Digging through the code, it looks to me like the problem probably relates to the loot window. There are several pieces of state that the game juggles with regards to having that window pop up to show you what you can loot instead of just showing you a pop-up letting you know that you can loot _something_, including doing stuff like setting an "idle" state. So, while I would _love_ to make the game just let you loot stuff regardless, I'd be very nervous about mucking with all of the code related to the loot window. It probably is possible to make it work, but it certainly looks like it's more complicated than setting a bool to indicate that you're allowed to loot. Regardless, simply removing functions that are called elsewhere like this mod does just seems dumb and is going to result in errors. I don't know how the mod author would have ever have gotten a working mod that way. It's clearly wrong.
I set mine to -1 and I can loot in combat, tho it is a little annoying might change it to 1 (1 second) as your constantly entering the loot screen as you fighting. Edit What you really need if it could even be done (in an amateur here) is the ability to change the looting interact from mouse click to a key press like F
This works like a charm, but it has an unintended consequence: You recover vitality as if you were out of combat, so I'm just gonna use this power during certain fights, like the prelude of chapter 2, when you can't loot the wraiths because you are always in combat, you have my thanks in any case, now I just need to find out how to lower the medallion cd

Line 3450 combatMode = 7
By altering this number you alter how long (in seconds) Geralt is locked in combat mode. (Can't save, can't loot, etc.)
Edit

Why?
