Not sure if you're monitoring this page anymore n1ftucal, but I'm trying to merge the changes from this mod with other mods that also edit files within base_scripts.dzip, however when I go to unpack your version of base_scripts.dzip using Gibbed RED Tools, all I see is a 2.5MB file called "a.ws". Did you somehow combine the entire script folder structure into a single .ws file? I'm not super familiar with modding the RED engine, but I have a good bit of experience modding other games, and it seems strange to have the entire folder/file structure changed into a single file. All other mods I've seen that edit base_scripts.dzip retain the same file structure.

I would like to use this mod, as from my quick testing it definitely works and is a real benefit, but I'll have to pass if I can't find a way to extract the dzip file so I can merge changes manually. Either way, thanks for the mod, it's a much needed one, even if I don't end up using it.

Hello, thanks for this mod it's look very cool. Just to know, when you say that you want to be the more closest of the original gameplay, have you made a change in potions, the evolution of stats of the character or even weapons/equipments? Or is it just about gameplay and mechanics?
About mechanics the only problem that I was able to see is the lock camera, when you're very close of the ennemy (humanoid in that case) the center of your view is on foots of the opponent, it seem that the lock cam is less lock on the head of the humanoid opponent than the body/foot, can you do something to this?
Again thank you for this mod, it work pretty well! :)

Hi. You're welcome. In my mods I always try to stay as close as possible to the original game, so I never change things like stats. A full description of the changes is available in the Readme (or my blog page). Usually there are a lot of other mods that change things like that for those interested.

The lock camera may indeed go down too much if you kill an opponent moving forward right on top of him, but it can usually be avoided and it's not a big problem. This is something I looked into but it's just not possible to fix with good performance with WitcherScript alone, and I don't have access to the source code of the binary files which control the rest of the camera logic.

Hi, thanks. You can test in the arena to get an idea of how it compares with the original. If you played Dark Souls games it will probably feel more familiar. It's definitely an improvement.

Full combat rebalance is much larger and according to reports the files are corrupted. In any case the goals of the mods are completely different: with this I wanted to create something that fixes obvious problems but changes gameplay as little as possible, so new users can install on first playthrough without missing anything of the original design. Mods like FCR aim to provide a full overhaul and different experience.

Since it's much smaller, more compatible, and more similar to original gameplay I would suggest my mod first, but obviously my opinion is biased.
