This doesn't support the modified values for talents per level in the .ini?

My only criticism of both of these mods is that being able to just hold the mouse button down and spam a single attack forever kind of trivializes combat, as even tough enemies cannot stand up to a constant flurry like that.

I agree that this is an issue, but I'm not sure what the best solution is: Would you rather not have the "hold button to attack"-functionality or should I add a stamina cost to all attacks (or both, of course)? At least theoretically those should fix this issue...

Alright, the solution I've been working on for a bit is to make all moves (all attacks, rolls and signs) to take some stamina. That changes gameplay quite a bit and therefore isn't really balanced all that well right now. Additionally, only full bars of stamina are displayed which means that you don't know if you can actually attack or roll or whatever.
I've been looking into modding the UI, but since I know next to nothing about Flash and you can't really decompile the .swf's my progress has been... slow.

If you want, I can upload what I have so far and you can try it - but as I said, that version doesn't feel all that well and I don't have the time to tweak the stamina requirements for each attack just so.

Is there any way to eliminate the just hold the mouse button down? i use Better combat, CEO and Mutagenology, but with this "just hold button to attack" just ruin all the tactics

Fantastic stuff and this makes things more balanced. Enjoy your playthrough of DS2, hopefully you comeback with a better feel of how combat should feel like. may need to take over JackBaldy's work if he has gone missing. A vigor/stamina display mechanic would make things perfect.

Will try get a good keybind system for the 360 controller, will post a config if i get it working. I haven't played TW2 because of the fact I hated the stock camera and battle mechanics - this will def get me playing.

Thanks (although what I did until now is really not much)!
And yes, I am really enjoing DS2 but am far from finished. I'm not happy with some things they changed from DS1, but it feels pretty good overall. JackBaldy has - surprisingly - not really gone missing, we talked a bit via PMs and he does have the intention to come back to modding TW2. So while I may be able to improve some things I'm pretty confident that those may become either superfluous or integrated into the main mod. We'll see...

The main problem right now is that I'm not able to mod the UI and I feel that stamina consumption without any feedback is not that enjoyable.

This sounds like an exceptional idea I am a big Dark souls fan, I am just finishing my vanilla run on dark mode and tbh the combat can be challenging at times but needs more depth and control. I was leaning towards RCR for my next play-through but this may take the cake. I would be more than happy to provide feedback for you. I might load this up and do the arena to get an idea of balancing if you are still keen on developing this mod further.

Why, yes, I'd certainly like to hear some (a lot of) feedback from you!
Right now I'm a bit preoccupied because I've finally started playing Dark Souls 2, but I will surely find some time to tweak TW2's combat. Right now it kinda depends on whether I can mod the interface - if not then there won't be much feedback about stamina and stamina consumption.
And, furthermore, I can't guarantee that I'll be able to do all I wanted to - I just don't have enough experience in modding.

But as I said: I'd be very happy to get some feedback, although right now not all that much has been changed. I might get around to some further changes tomorrow, but we'll see.

I honestly don't know since I don't have one, but theoretically there should be no problem if you can map the medium attack range button to the controller.

If you look in the original RotS-forum you'll see that xexyzchronos got it to work with his 360 controller.

Should you get to play with it for a bit I would really appreciate some input regarding the balancing and any other ideas you might have. Thanks!
