Rise of the Sword rebalanced
version 1.061
This mod is based upon Rise of the Sword by JackBaldy.

Since there was some discussion about Rise of the Swords balance I decided to take a look at the code and add a bit of balancing of my own.
Should you not have a look at RotS yet I urge you to download and try it and then give JackBaldy an endorsement for his great work!

What does it do?
This mod includes all the features from the latest version of RotS (1.06) and adds stamina consumption to long and medium range attacks.

Long range attacks (heavy and fast) take one bar of stamina and medium range attacks need half a bar. This of course leads to issues with gauging whether you can or can't attack form afar since the vigor bar can only display integers. Therefore any attack falls back to the one with the next shorter range.

Installation:
  • Install Rise of the Sword.
  • Drop the base_scripts.dzip into the CookedPC folder of your The Witcher 2 installation.

Plans for the future:
  • Different attack costs for heavy and fast attacks.
  • Smaller cost for blocking.
  • Disable auto-blocking (maybe).
  • Rebalance of vigor costs for signs in respect to swordplay.
  • Update the UI so that fractions of one bar of vigor can be displayed OR increase the number of vigor bars drastically. First solution is of course preferred but might not be feasible since I know nothing about Scaleform.
  • Add vigor cost to rolling.
  • ...
  • Ultimately: Provide a combat experience comparable to Dark Souls in regard to stamina and stamina management.

Since I am neither very experienced with modding nor have all that much time at my hands, getting all the above done may take a lot of time... But you guys could really help me with playtesting and telling me whether the combat feels right or not.

Furthermore, this will stay nothing but a fork of RotS, so when JackBaldy updates his mod and I agree with his changes this one will be updated as well.
