Thanks a metric ton for this mod. It actually made the game playable for me.

If I'm the "great Geralt of Rivia" who's supposed to be able to endure a ton of pain, why can Drowners make short work of me in seconds on normal? It makes no sense. This mod fixes that. I'll vouch for this mod. If you're having trouble with combat but don't want to break it, just use this. This will solve a ton of issues with the game.

    Kevinnium:

Hi and thanks indeed for this mod.
I am running the Steam enhanced game and cannot find the "abilities" file under CookedPC.
Am using Notepad++ to look for this.
So, does this mod and the others here work under Steam?
Why is my abilities file not visible?
    Hope you can help.
    Thanks,
    Bill

Hi. How do i install? Simple extraction to game directory? Tried that and doesn't work. Also I don't have a folder called abilities from the vanilla version. Do i have to do something else?

This might be a stupid question, but in the XML file, if you set max HP at 100 and max regen at 2, does it mean Gerald cannot have more than 100 HP and 2 Vitality regen ?
What if he gets a +1 regen item (or drink a Swallow potion) ? Will he still get a +2 or a +3 ?
Also, if Geralt gets a Vitality regen outside of combat (like Greater Strength mutagen), will it also increase the Vitality regen in combat ? More simply, are they linked or independant ? How could we make it ALWAYS the same value ?

First and foremost, thanks for creating this mod! It makes the game all the more enjoyable as far as I'm concerned.

I, like another poster, want to edit the values for different effects. For instance, faster regeneration of health and endurance to the point of unlimited. Damage reduction would be nice as well since most enemies seem to take health faster than it can regen. To that end, do I have to change both min and max values? What do they mean, exactly?

I know you said before to change it to a higher value, but I'm not sure I have do that for both. I changed both to 10.0 once already, and my character died during the prologue.

Any help would be greatly appreciated!

I guess 10.0 is high enough.

I have tried 20.0 before, and the game experience was heavily effected.

But if you really want to enjoy the story, not the combat system of this game. You can change more values you like in the geralt_basic.xml file.

    Some examples:
<aard_knockdown_chance mult=false always_random=false min=0.15 max=0.15 type=bonus/> (Arden sign knockdown rate, the value means 15%, you can change it to 0.99 aard means Arden sign.)
    <aard_stun mult=false display_perc=true always_random=false min=1.00 max=1.00 type=critical/> (Arden sign stun rate, here means increase rate, 1.0 means increase 100% )

In your case, I guess your HP is not high enough, so you probably got one hit kill. (maybe, I am not sure...).
My suggest is that you may change vitality to 500, which increase your Max HP to 500 to prevent got some damage more than you can take.

For changing endurance value, the highest number is 7 or 8, I forgot the exactly number.
Any number goes higher than 8 will not show up in the screen, but still take effect though.

I put some notes for your information, wish it helps:

    #Vitality group
<vitality mult=false always_random=false min=500 max=500/> (Max HP, it is not a random number, so change both min and max value.)
    <vitality_regen mult=false always_random=false min=10.0 max=10.0/> (HP regen rate)
    <vitality_combat_regen mult=false always_random=false min=10.0 max=10.0/> (HP regen rate IN COMBAT)
<vitality_toxbonus mult=false always_random=false min=10.0 max=10.0 type=bonus/> (HP regen rate when you got toxic effect. If you choose Alchemy line, you may need this.)
    <vitality_regen_combat_easy mult=false always_random=false min=10.0 max=10.0/> (HP regen rate in EASY mode)
<vitality_regen_easy mult=false always_random=false min=10.0 max=10.0/> (HP regen rate IN COMBAT in EASY mode.)
