    1. Because I wanted to still be able to use the Configurator.

    2. My bad. It's just a mistake.

    3. AllowAntialias/AllowSharpen. Nothing else is changed (at least not when I tested it). Those lines ARE reset if you used it correctly. You have to start the configurator through my exe of course, but that's in the ReadMe, is it not?

    4. I didn't know the official Configurator was buggy. "Well-known" is an interesting description here. Whatever lines apart from the two mentioned above were "messed-up" it was probably done by the configurator itself.

    5. I would (probably) should edit the description (I just didn't think that people wanted to know every tiny detail of what this mod does). You can test the SMAA injector yourself, that's why it's used here. But I get your point. People wanna see the things before they buy them... or in this case, download 'em.

So why not go the usual way with the normal non-crypted, non-packed (d3d9.dll, injector.ini, SMAA.fx and SMAA.h) files zipped and dropped in the bin/ folder?

Since this is actually SMAA why you keep naming it SSAA? Not to mention that even the files are named SMAA and not SSAA as you keep posting.

Which lines do you modify in the user.ini? AllowAntialias / AllowSharpen / UberSampling ? Why are these lines NOT re-set as I had them once I disable SMAA with your tool?

Why bother with the Configurator since it's a known fact that the Configurator keeps messing up settings? The tweaker ( http://witcher.nexusmods.com/mods/181 ) makes a better job at it BUT running your tool and hence the Configurator will reset MaxCubeShadowCount/MaxCubeShadowSize/MaxSpotShadowSize/MeshDistanceScale/TextureMemoryBudget to whatever it wants. so once I test your tool I got a messed up user.ini with 8 settings to re-set as I had them.

Also why not edit the description of the mod with the text you posted here and make it clearer on it's purpose and usage? Maybe even make pics with before ( normal in-game AA ) and after ( SMAA ) so we can see if and when it's working?!

    Just saying.

Guys, are you kidding me? There's no virus or trojan or other malware in here whatsoever.

This is just (as the description suggests) a tool to run the Witcher 2 configurator but when enabling AA it installs mrhaandi's SSAA injector instead of activating ingame AA. The "secretly" bin.res contains the data for the injector (d3d9.dll, injector.ini, SSAA.fx and SSAA.h).

This is an AutoIt script to enable the above mentioned functions. It was compiled into an exe by using the standard AutoIt script compiler (Aut2exe). What's there to hide? Nothing but the script itself. I don't make the rules for the compiler.

The injector that is used was made by mrhaandi, I should have just mentioned him (I was using another injector based on Timothy Lottes' FXAA before).

I'm sorry if you thought I was trying to fool you, but you could have just looked at my profile and you would have seen that I've already uploaded some other W2 mods that had nothing to do with malware or other stuff like that.

Edit: For those who want to know: The script only installs/deinstalls the above-mentioned files and changes two entries in the User.ini to enable the Configurator to display the AA option according to the injector and not the ingame AA and make the usage of the injector possible.

www.virustotal.com and not 'some free A/V' reports it, but only from some less known products.

    In the mean time:

This just runs the normal game Configurator too in the background, what for?
What's the need for the secretly 'bin.res' ASCII file?
Why is this EXE both packed with UPX and encrypted with Yoda's crypter? What's there to hide or protect?

Some suspicious activity reported: http://anubis.iseclab.org/?action=result&task_id=116687be9d58734e441ce343c603c5223&format=html (but that test is rather incomplete as the sandbox does not have the game installed)

Apparently it has some AutoIt scripts inside ( http://v.virscan.org/Worm/Sohanad.aim.html ), what for?

The README.TXT does not explain the HOW yet is says it's based on Timothy Lottes work ( http://timothylottes.blogspot.ro/2011/07/fxaa-311-released.html ), a guy from nVidia plus MRHaandi's ( http://mrhaandi.blogspot.ro/p/injectsmaa.html ) injector that's only used for SMAA ( an independent AA method http://www.iryoku.com/smaa/ )... strange combination.

A Readme is part of the .zip.

Simple (so most of the "free") A/V products will give a "trojan" warning when they see an executable contained in a download, as this one has.

The type of job this mod is designed to do requires making significant changes to the way your rig is set up to display the game's video. "ConfigurationTool.exe" scans clean with two different anti-malware programs on my machine.

This isn't an endorsement or a guarantee, just some additional info.If you don't trust it, don't use it.
