Are you unable to load only King of Beggars or any adventure and even main game whatsoever? You could've run out of save space. Try to delete some old save files, but only via the game menu - if you try to do it manually in folder view, the game may download them back from the cloud.
If that doesen't work you can always try to delete the adventure and download it again - maybe the file got corrupted the first time.
I loaded other adventures like Price of Neutrality and Side Effects. They all loaded and started just fine. I even erased all saves (no biggie, already played thru the whole game +DLCs), launched in regular and administrative mode. King of Beggars wouldn't start. Uninstalled the mod and reinstalled via both mod manager (Vortex) and manual download. Still wouldn't start. My game is a GOG copy if that helps. I also have other mods installed like "Witcher Overhaul Project" and "Rise of the White Wolf". I followed the readme by copying the ADV. file into my Public Documents folder and it will still say it's missing or corrupt.
I have no clue what's going on.
Update: I went to moddb to try and download from there. I downloaded both the original and 10th anniversary to see which works. The 10th still doesn't work. The original actually boots and starts up but dialogue lines are missing and replaced with "EMPTY".
Hi, it may be possible that King of Beggars is incompatible with one of the mods. Try removing mods or reinstall The Witcher.
The "original" King of Beggars doesn't support english language (only polish) that's reason why all dialogues lines are replaced by "Empty". But I still don't understand why in your case old version works and the new version doesn't.
I really don't know what to tell you after I did all that. I uninstalled the 2 overhaul mods I mentioned. I did a verify/repair process for the Witcher game. It's completely back to it's default state when I first installed it sans mods. I got rid of every single little mod I could find (running faster) and "Beggars" still refuses to start. I'm not trying to be an A-hole, but the mod is DOA to me. I find it ridiculous and tedious to go through all this troubleshooting just to make a single adventure work. I tried.
From a technical standpoint, this is pretty great. Plenty of cutscenes and battles.
However, the main story is meh and borderline incoherent at times. There are cutscenes that make no sense at all, especially the references to retro games and movies. It doesn't even try to be "lore-friendly", so if you're going into this expecting a good story you'll be disappointed.
