As I am basically using the same model as the normal silver sword I do not see why it should not work. I don't actually know how the scabbards are implemented as I personally do not use the mod.
Then there's a problem with the templates. Using scabbard mod or another one chanigng the templates? Started a savegame before entering Black Tern Island?
Actually, this mod should work regardless by using the Override directory. However, to make sure, go to your Witcher install directory, find the folder of the Complete Sword Overhaul (should be "z_zSwords_DM") and delete the "aerondight" folder under "silver_swrds".
I'm setting up to install your mod and Complete Sword Overhaul (z_zSwords_DM), I have my Override folder, I have deleted the Aerondight folder as part of CSOmod, But I still see file conflicts on three files: (grease022_start, grease023_start, grease024_start)
Both mods have these three files. Are the mods incompatible? or should I delete 022_start, 023... etc, from your mod or the other?
Hi. If you want to have the glowing runes effect of my mod, you should delete the files from the Overhaul mod.
However, I suspect that you might then have some visual problems with the rune effects on the new models from the Overhaul mod. This is due to the fact that the author of that mod did not work on some necessary files, choosing to "delete" the grease effects on all swords instead.
To be honest, I think it should be fine due to the way runes are applied to the swords, but I cannot say for sure.
I'm taking your advice to keep your files intact. I"m going to toss the duplicate files from the CSO mod in a backup folder. If there are any issues I'll swap them back in and see what happens. I'll endorse as soon as I get the sword in game. THNX!
Just of the top of my head, I think Harvall might have the biggest problem since the sword looks completely different in CSO. I would actually advise you to only install those swords that basically have the same shape as the originals.
@ltsheppard Very cool implementation. I'm not at that point in the game to see it in action, but def looking forward to it!
Humble request, for continuity sake: Please create the equivalent mod for Witcher 2 if you are able. Possible?
While I did play WItcher 2 & 3 on console, I always wanted to do it right... which means on PC, kitted out with the best mods. So, I'm finally going back to W1E to play one continuous story line for Geralt. As such, I'm trying to work out my mod lists for the 3 games now. It'd be amazing to carryover my Aerondight and have it appear in my Witcher 2 import (..then again in W3WH) with this skin to match... Just a thought.
Thanks for your work!
Edit: SInce I played W3 before the DLC expansions came out.. I now see that this mod is based on it's appearance in the W3 DLC. That's awesome! Again, if this mod was also available for Witcher 2 continuity would be complete.
Always wanted a mod like this. I'd prefer a full mesh replacement (it's definitely possible to do considering the old sword overhaul mod does just that), but this is the next best thing. Much appreciated.
It is certainly possible. However, I have decided to use an original model for maximum compatibility. The Complete Sword Overhaul e.g. introduced problems with grease effects they were unable to fix.
Also, we do not know the exact engine limits. Introducing a host of new higher poly count models would most likely crash the engine, as is already the case with upscaled textures.

Can modify the hilt?
If you succeed, you're perfect :)
Complete Sword Overhaul
There is a hilt similar to W3_Aerondight
Can someone combine this mod
It's perfect

Any clarification helpful. Much Appreciated!

I am actually working on a similiar mod for Witcher 2 now (I've just begun a new playtrough).
However, I am having problems getting new models into the game.
I've made a substitute that uses models from the Witcher 2. Maybe I will upload that for the moment.
