I don't know. You can try to disable some effects by opening "MasterEffect.h" with notepad and looking at the begining, there are the effects. 0 means it's inactive and 1 = active. You can change 1 by 0 and try in game if the problem is resolved. You doesn't need to shut down and launch the game at each modification, you can just use ALT+TAB in-game, make the modification, save the modification end return in-game to see.

I don't remember exactly if it is this lines to change, but it's something near...
PS: you can change the values without restarting the game. Juste switch with "Alt+Tab" between modification (don't forget to save changes)
