Unfortunately that's what I highlighted at the bottom of the description.
I know that a lot of Kaer Morhen textures are used somewhere else, but I doubt anything can be done about it (except adapting some other textures, but that would be more like retexturing whole game, which takes really a lot of time).
Actually I've never thought of this! Would you consider releasing a patch for my mod? As a separate mod / "product", or (if you wish) - as a part of this mod?
Update actually would be sensible - you throw away the old version and replace it with the new one - simply as that! But if you want to make your own "branch" of this mod - feel free to do that, as long as you credit me there - you're good to go and I'm totally, 100% fine with it =)
I´m sorry but this is disgusting. The textures are of higher quality and resolution sure, but in the context of the lighting and the overall art style of the game, they´re horrible. It looks like a fuc*ing LEGO castle. Does no one else see this?
Thanks! Well honestly I'm thinking about it. Although everything depends on you, the receivers. It depends on feedback I will get. It's a lot of work. I worked on this about 20 hours. So the whole game would be at least 200 I suppose But... never say never
Dude you are the best! I think i will start playing The wither1 because of your mod. I relay hated the graphics of Kaer Morhen because i played the witcher 3 first
hey dude, was this relatively easy to do and just labor intensive? if so, and you could write some instructions on what to do i'd like to help out so the other locations/characters can be done
Relatively - yeaa. For me the bigest problem was to find out the names of the textures responsible for certain elements. That's the most labour intense. For e.g. I had this beautiful Kaer Morhen. I could see this old texture on it. And then I had the whole list of ~ 3000 textures and now guessing what that might be. I don't know if there's any easier way like I click on the 3D model and it automatically shows me what texture(s) it uses. But - I have to admit - this task was easier for me than it would be for 99% of people. That's because I'm from Poland, polish is my native language and texture files contain polish names so it wasn't soo hard to find out which texture is this one I was looking for.
Then, when you finally know what texture you have to modify, you just replace it by a better one. For all 2D graphics I used GIMP with DDS Exporter Plugin.
Then I had to check if the texture suits all the environment. If no, I had to adjust saturation, contrast etc. If it still didn't look well - I was looking for some alternative texture.
That's a very short summary of what I was doing. Detailed tutorial would be about few pages text with pictures.

I have done so by renaming them and editing the corresponding meshes. Now, I only see your improved textures in Kaer Morhen.
Thank you!
Update would not make much sense because I had to rename the textures to make them unique.

Who knows...
Great work
But... never say never
