Geralt looks like a gecko or some skinny lizard man with 5 oclock shadow.. kinda like that skinny/creepy old hobo without the beard. I thought i could play it without getting too bothered by the mental image, but that's not the case. :p I'm glad i found this. Thank you!
Check again if the new textures are there where they should be:
[Your Witcher installation folder]\Data\Textures
If they are and you still can't see the new face version: What is your Witcher version? I have GOG version and it works. Perhaps your version doesn't support external textures?
I'm running the Enhanced Edition from Steam. I looked in the Textures folder and the two files I downloaded from this mod are the only two in there. Is that all that should be in there?
Actually, I just thought of something. I am running Rise of the White Wolf. Should I be putting these textures in that directory structure instead? I've seen other mods that put face changes and things directly in there under the Characters directory. I'll look there to see if the files exist already and I'm simply not overwriting the correct ones.
I founder another set of those files in a location called Data\Override so I put your files there, as well. Still no beard. Bummer. I really have no idea where it's pulling the Geralt face from.
Yes. I found files of the same name in a characters\Geralt directory, but overwriting them with yours didn't make any changes. I just started Chapter 5 so I'm almost finished anyway. No real reason to modify anything else.
Love the look of tge mod. Im jusy wondering is it at all possible for the author or anyone here to change his hair color and beard to brown. Since there is no character creation I basically made up my own. Can someone please do this?
It is possible to change Geralt's hairstyle to that from Witcher 2? I have extracted the dds files in both games, just not sure what to do next? I'm sure there is a mesh or something, right?
Well it's a hard nut to crack. His hair is a 3D model with some physics stuff (or at least animation). I tried to change some meshes in TW1 and I have to admit it's a painful process unlike let's say TW2. By modifying just testure files you won't achieve what you want.
Hmm. Welp, I appreciate the knowledge. Just imagining how awesome it'd be to have Geralt's hair from later games. Endorsed BTW, can't play the game without this mod.
Hello, I just downloaded this to test it on my Steam version of The Witcher, and it looks great. I first installed the bearded version so I could see if it works (easier to see if the beard shows up than just the other changes), and it does.
All I did was unzip the folder and copy/pasted the "Textures" folder into the Data/Override folder. Since I don't have other texture based mods, I can't speak to anyone who is having problems with it that do have multiple texture mods, but my suggestion would be to try it with a new game or drop the "Textures" folder in the "Override" folder separate from the others to see if it works then.
Anyway, what turned out more as curiosity ended with a new addition to my game.
which contains a concrete mesh - it's almost impossible to do. Not in this old game engine, not at my "modding level". Well, generally everything is possible, I hope you know what I mean.
silentmichal i would love to see a bearded version :D I'm so used to it from witcher 3 ... (the first beard is fine enough for me too(you can't have everything^^))
I decided to abandon this project (face from TW3). I tried to replace it but the results were not satisfying. Geralt looks then like a... girl. So I'm sorry bro, for now that's not possible.

Yee hair from TW3 in TW1 would be awesome, no denying about that
