I installed the file as instructed, with no other modifications. When I tested the game the cursor would not appear on the main menu, but I could click and pick the option that was selected by default, "load game". Any ideas why this is happening?
Actually, I just discovered it appeared when I pressed shift, probably as a result of the keyboard and mouse control scheme I'm using. With that issue solved, it works perfect.
Your'e on Steam, right? When the game loads, there's a pop up from Steam on the lower right corner of the screen, telling you to Shift+Tab to blah blah. Don't do that, not until you loaded/started the game.
The game uses [shift] to "show/use cursor" while playing. Seems pressing [shift] in main screen enables "hide cursor" when you let go *as in game*. A pitiful over-sight I suppose. Interesting for coders though heheh - lol.
Yes, it broke texture streaming It cause random game crashes (mostly while changing interior\exterior) (Engine require automatic using low res to prevent texture buffer overflow in some cases. x86 aurora engine limits) (!) Maybe not critical with vanilla textures, but if you use any enhanced textures - you shouldn't use this tweak Use -dontforceminreqs argument instead it
Supposedly, this mod uses the wrong values for certain things which results in low res textures still being allowed. https://forums.nexusmods.com/index.php?showtopic=7778078/#entry71932278

I just wanted to add that you probably don't have to create an Override folder, just add it into the Data folder, at least if you have the Steam version, might be different for other versions. The menu still doesn't allow you to change the quality, but the effect is there.
I know this all has been said before, but I thought I might as well type it out so it's all in one post.
The Witcher is modded manually - everything gets put into the Data\Override folder. For more information, there is a pretty good guide here: http://www.gamingboulevard.com/2015/05/special-lets-mod-the-witcher-enhanced-edition/
The only section you really need to read is "Installation."
i know this post is old but. the guide at gaming boulivard has some flaws. (or because there is so many install configs) FCR is not on the nexus anymore. it`s here https://www.moddb.com/mods/full-combat-rebalance1/downloads . the re-texture for the herbs goes in "z_zrotww\Override" folder. (make one if it`s not there). the "stop the rain" mod goes in the same folder. the scabbard mod is here. https://www.moddb.com/mods/scabbard-mod/downloads. the guide also says you can`t put folders in the data\Override folder, then in the pic he shows 3 folders (leuvaarden, rain stop and sex takes time) i put all the files from Leuvaarden and STT folders, loose in data\override and "rain stop" in z_zrotww \Override. it all depends on if you use the insaller version of rotww or the .zip.
Thank you! I tried everything to make the game run and wanted to play it so much but it kept crashing each time I opened it. although when I use your mod it runs well(I'm on Steam).
