Very very thankful for this. I'm on Ch.5 and have had enough of the poor mechanics, camera work, and poor game design. Wish I found this from the start and I would have enjoyed the story line more rather than getting flustered. Dragon Age being similar had the mechanics far better than this game and there really isn't any excuse since Witcher came out later. I fear the same mechanics will be in 2 and 3 so I hope I can find similar mods. Thanks!
RAR files are archives that need to be extracted; 7-zip is freeware and can do the job -just google it. Install the correct one, depending on your OS (32- or 64-bit). One installed you can right-click on the RAR file and choose to extract it.
Update I got it to work and Garelt of rivia is unstoppable now.I first started out finishing the story with the witcher 3 and now have all three games on pc and starting with witcher 1 and going through the full series in its entirety but I didnt want the hassel of dieing because of clunky controls but am enjoying the story so far and looking forward to the witcher 2 as well because I havent played that either for the first time and Im new to pc modding and I dont know much about but thanks for your help Alehazer.
I may have some info that will help get this mod working for some.
I have the GOG version. In order for it to work for me I had to put the file in the "data" folder. "C:\Program Files (x86)\GOG Galaxy\Games\The Witcher Enhanced Edition\Data" It doesn't matter where you put it as long as you have it in that folder. You can even create your own folder for the file and place it there if you want. Once in that location, I did has another post suggested and renamed the .luc to .lua.
Then this mod worked perfectly.
If you want to return everything back to the way things were before the mod was installed just remove it from the data folder.
Hmm strange... doesnt seem to be working for most people but i just simply downloaded the mod and added it to "Data" and worked perfectly. game keeps crashing everytime i take too much damage tho.
OMG creator of mod saved my life this still works but u have to:
INSTALLATION INSTRUCTIONS: Place the OVERRIDE directory inside the Data directory where you installed The Witcher ( Exp :- ...\The Witcher\Data\OVERRIDE)
I couldn't get this to work as first with the .lua file in the /Override or /Data directories. So here is what I did: 1. On GOG there was a folder called: \Games\GOG Galaxy\Games\The Witcher Enhanced Edition\Data\z_Flash\lua 2. Go there and rename the existing file: witcher_atr_abl.lua (so you can revert back to a normal game) 3. Copy this mod's file witcher_atr_abl.luc to the directory in step 1. 4. Rename the "witcher_atr_abl.luc" to "witcher_atr_abl.lua"
then restart the game and you should be invincible :)
Dude! You're the best! For me it was a different folder (z_FCR, because I use this mod), but other than that I followed your instruction and now finally I'm the legendary Geralt of Rivia and not some tissue paper wussy dying of dog bites.
when i add this \Override into The Witcher - EE - DC\Data the game loads but on cutscene at exiting cave with witch to go into The Beast bossfight it crashes to desktop without error message. Help please i just want to pass this !"$%= of a boss-fight, who the idiot designed this.
