About this mod

Have you ever wanted to see your trusty Mahakaman Sihill against Azar Javed in a cutscene? Now you shall have it. It's been almost eighteen years after the release of The Witcher 1. Now it's time to show the real weapons you carry in the cutscenes.

Something that has bothered me, and I'm sure many other players for years - the appearance of your weaponry in the cutscenes. The process of creating cutscenes in D'jinni, the game's editor requires some effort - I could say a lot about the details. It'll suffice to say, it's not easy and there was a reason CDPR themselves left it as it is, which means the default swords in every cutscene.

I was wondering how to fix it, at first I planned to do it the hard way (trust me when I say it) and fix only the Epilogue cutscenes with only the Sihill and Moonblade appearances. But people can be quite creative and inventive when they want, and I came up with a shockingly simple idea.

So, here it is, A Cutscene Weapons Replacer.

Let the simplicity of the files not fool you - I had to invent a way how to defeat the limit of the game's engine itself. And I'm quite content with the result, I'm sure you will also be.

The Witcher 1 is a game where fortunately, we don't come across dozens of new weapons every ten minutes. It helps very much here. When you find/buy a new sword and plan to use it at least for some time - save your game, leave it, drop the correct folder (e.g. Default Steel - Sihill) into Data/Override, run the game again and enjoy your weapon in any cutscene you come across. When you change the sword - save, put the correct folder and that's it.

There's no other way - one could directly edit the cutscene - mind you, it'd require a lot of work, and still I'd be able to put a fixed sword in there. My solution is flexible - the cutscenes will adjust to YOUR weapons, not the other way around.

Good luck on the Trail.
