Hey there, I just downloaded the mod and it looks awesome! I was just wondering how you trigger the event to get Drauven PC's? Because I've gone through almost an entire campaign and have not encountered the event at all.
The first Drauven recruit comes from a two-part event: * First, you need to encounter the event "Abandoned" when scouting a wilderness (non-combat) tile. If you have not recruited a Drauven hero yet, we add a bunch of priority and targeting bonuses to make the event almost guaranteed to trigger as your first scouting event (as long as Drauven are an enemy that exist in the current campaign. Note that the "All the Bones of Summer" campaign disables 'Abandoned' from being a valid event, so it can't be that campaign.) * Second, you need time to pass for the child to grow into an adult old enough to adventure. When 'Abandoned' triggers, we generate a 7-year-old NPC, and the next step requires that they at least reach the age of 18. (The 10 years of peace in a normal interval is usually enough to satisfy this) * Finally, take either the hero who tended to the wounded Drauven child in 'Abandoned' or the character that you gave the cloak you got as a reward to into a combat on a tile where Drauven are the lurking enemy. A scene will trigger that will reveal that the Drauven on the tile aren't the real threat and you'll instead be fighting alongside the Drauven against a common enemy. * Once you save the grown-up Abandoned Drauven this second time, they will offer to join your team.
After the intro quest is complete, when you build stations you will now have the option to build "Drauven Outposts" which will offer opportunities to recruit additional Drauven heroes, and you will unlock generic campaigns where one or more of your heroes begin as Drauven characters.
We have noticed that some mods that add wilderness scouting events do so in a way that has a much higher priority than anything else in the game - "Love is in the Air" is the one most commonly reported, but there may also be others that I don't know about. If the sequence is still not triggering for you, I would recommend trying with other mods with events turned off until 'Abandoned' is triggered. (Afterwards, you should be able to turn any other mods back on without any ill effect)
After dozens of playthroughs I finally had the drauven child event trigger then the drauven returned the following chapter and now I have plenty of drauven outposts and stories and I love the amount of customization with drauven characters.
I really appreciate the work that's gone on/still on going with this mod, thank you :D
Glad you're enjoying the mod! (And sorry to miss this comment - apparently I don't have notifications turned on very loudly here)
We just added an update to make it easier than ever to get your first Drauv from "The Abandoned" (Should be virtually guaranteed if you don't have any Drauven yet), so hopefully we won't have people waiting for so many playthroughs to get the event anymore. The update also adds a new pet, plus a few more features - let us know if you have any other ideas or if you find any bugs!
Only small issue i've bene having (haven't yet started this new update) was every drauv I recruited would start out with the name ** which is an easy enough fix once I recruit them. Yay for a new pet! thanks for updating this :D
Thank-you! There were a few bugs found in the latest update, uploading a hotfix (0.15.1) now to resolve the ones that have been reported.
The latest version should fix the '**' problem for now as well, though at the cost of having to reintroduce some temporary weirdness on the Customize panel if you try to edit your Drauv before they go into your Legacy.
