So, the instructions are incorrect or at best unclear. When you unzip the BetterEquipmentMods_v1.0.0.0-15-1-0-0-0-1609061967.zip file into the main folder, it creates a folder called BetterEquipmentMods_v1.0.0.0-15-1-0-0-0-1609061967 with the files in it.
You need to move THOSE files into the main folder. Once that's done, I just clicked the WL3 exe from the folder itself, and it ran an automated process that took a minute before launching the game. Now, when I go into the weapon modification screen, I can double-click an attached mod to remove it. I literally just did this on the newest Steam version with all DLC (which shouldn't matter, but just for clarity) and it worked.
I think this mod deleted all of my DLC weapons. Since that was almost all of my weapons, it left my squad essentially unarmed!
This mod didn't delete my DLC guns. What did delete them, was running Wasteland 3 from the executable file in the directory instead of through Steam. When I did that, I found them back in my inventory.
Works for the latest GoG version. Upon launching the game from WL3.exe a console command will pop up and config the mod, then start the game. Do not disable the command window, it will close the game. It may take some time at first to launch, but it's quick once its done once.
In order to remove a mod, double click LMB on the attached mod. Don't drag it around, it won't work (I almost went here to complain that its not working).
Just wanted to say thanks for this. This is my 3rd playthru of this game and modding weapons has always infuriated me. Vanilla is just flat broken. In the mid to later stages of the game, longer range mods (scopes/barrels) are impossible to get. No matter how many weapons you strip. It's idiotic. Thanks again!
@Marek2212 - Are you sure you installed it right? It's working great for me. I have no other mods installed as this is the only one I needed. Make sure you first run the game from the WL3.exe located in in the folder where you extracted the files to. After that you can launch it like you normally do. (like with steam or whatever)

This was driving me insane. I hope this helps.

Argh, the new version of Wasteland 3 (1.6.9) breaks this essential mod !
Any workaround ?
Edit : weird, just checked, 1.3.9 is an old patch, why did it stop working then ?
Generally: Junk is too valuable to upgrade mod A to B
just install whatever you can when you have weapon you will use for a while
