Maybe my own placebo affect, maybe real affect. I went looking for 'improvement to fps'/'decrease to stuttering' after the patch previous to Penance update seemed to lower it, and I noticed an increase with this.
Increase lua heap size - fixed the OOM crashes for me.
Open {steam-lib}\common\Warhammer 40,000 DARKTIDE\launcher\Launcher.exe.config add --lua-heap-mb-size 2048 to the end of the setting/value with the name "ExeArgs" under configuration/configSections/applicationSettings/Launcher.Properties.Settings (should look something like) <setting name="ExeArgs" serializeAs="String"> <value>--bundle-dir ../bundle --ini settings --lua-heap-mb-size 2048</value> </setting>
Yes, you can use Vortex. Manual download is okay too. You can run the files from anywhere and they will work. I do recommend using Vortex as it keeps track of the mod for you in case you ever need to run the Uninstall file.
Just chiming in to say that it made my game run worse, tested 6 maps in total and got some stuttering (not because of the shader cache thing). It was worth a try tho, but honestly game runs well enough.
Running a very tightly overclocked 5800x and undervolted 3070, maybe the CPU didn't like the extra squeeze xD
Would it be possibly that you can make a version where it's set to "above normal" instead of high? High just makes the stuttering worse and my sound bug more often. Thanks. Specs:
I've read in several examples that putting priority on high can make your PC prioritize the game before windows functioning as well as possible, inadvertently causing more issues while playing the game. Have you heard anything about this or whether or not it holds any truth for Darktide in particular?
I think Windows handles system processes a little differently than the others. I have set the priority to High for every game I play and never had any issues with the OS. You may be thinking of the "Realtime" priority, which can cause issues for other processes.
nice, I wonder if there is a good tool outthere which can help me to compare a before and after. I cant manage to look at an overlay while playing. In any case i will try how it goes. thx.
This caused severely stuttering sound for me. The issue does not go away without this mod (started happening after the latest patch) but uninstalling this reduced stutters from about once per second to about every ten seconds.
Sorry it did not help with your stuttering. If you ran the Uninstall file, everything should be exactly as it was before, so if you saw a difference, there are likely other factors at play.
gotcha. as someone who does these things regularly what do you recommend worker threads being left at? i heard setting them at less than half improves performance, is that true? mine goes up to 14 but it defaults at 13. since i keep mine at 6 am i doing myself any favors?
