FS has made the following statement on mods: https://forums.fatsharkgames.com/t/darktide-modding-policy/75407
Specifically they outline illegal mods as anything resulting in behaviour falling into any of these categories:
The only one of these that you could argue this mod could result in is the third one, with the logic that this mod allows you to finish maps quicker by finishing the minigame quicker.
However, after doing the math, this mod will save you on average 0.37 seconds per minigame, assuming that without it, the only target symbols you'd miss are ones directly below a preceding target symbol. If you cannot react to the target symbol being on the next column either, this goes up to 0.73 seconds.
You can make your own judgement on if 0.37-0.73 seconds per minigame is an unfair advantage, or if this is just a quality of life improvement.
Yes, there is a new one added. The mission with the big pox tree at the end where you have to upload data to the skull 3x while enemies attack you in waves? The tree has a new minigame and mechanic now
Just tested this, i think the Biotic Probe minigame is much better than the one this mod affects and seeing the target would actually save you a significant fraction of time unlike the default decoding minigame, so i'm less inclined to mod this. On the other hand, the positive feedback i've received on this mod DOES make me want to see how difficult it would be to make something similar for the new minigame. If i do end up working on a visualization for the Biotic Probe minigame, i will release it as a separate mod as i think it would be more likely that FS would have a problem with it than this version and i think having separate mods is clearer than having toggles for different minigames in the mod options.
If you're lazy and can't be bothered to do the snake game without a bit of cheating then go ahead and use it. I personally won't, since it's kinda cheaty, same as Healthbars and DynamicCrosshair, which let you see/spot thing's that that are purposefully hidden.
yes, i do agree with you, i'm a pro mini-gamer and i spent thousands of hours in darktide just to increase my mini-game skill, all i want in this game is to play the fascinating mini-games and complete it over and over again, and this mod ruined everything, what can i play in darktide without these mini-games!?
Jesus the amount of people in the comments pulling excuses straight out of their a** to make themselves feel better about needing to use something so utterly stupid as a means to save 5 seconds. Gtfo
...Im a little confused... Why are you clicking on this mod if its function is beneath you again...? And..er... why are you telling others to gtfo of a chat... on the page... for a mod... you... are not interested in? Retorical curiousities of course... There is no reasonable explanation for such an unreasonable thought patterns and the willingness to expose it. And, indeed, it very much looks you are compensating...
i havent used it yet because the new patch apparently messed stuff up (havent tried to run mods again yet) but i see its advantage being able to mainly see if the other symbols are too far away, like how when you decode sometimes they're each on the other side, i could see this and instead cancel out and hopefully get a quicker decode. Short version: i dont have to rely on pure instinct and reaction time
This mod only relies on scripts that exclusively have to do with this specific minigame and shouldnt break on any new update unless they change the logic of the minigame.
Btw, the minigame code is built to support arbitrarily sized grids, so you can theorize about some kind of full sized monitor 16x9 hacking minigame being in the next update. This mod should be able to handle those without needing an update too.
I can't believe the people crying over this. To me this is one of the more annoying parts of the game. This is neither challenging or give me any sense of tension. This mini games should be abolished from gaming in general as it feel more like lazy game design and padding.
Now Vermintide 2's Convocation of Decay mission has a co-op ruin switch "puzzle" (technically isn't co-op, but goes a lot faster when others help) which I feel is a genius idea. If they had made the mini game more co-op based THAT would be fun and suspenseful game-play.
This trash mini game is obviously bothering people if it has over 4000 Unique DL's out of the ~100,000 who use mods.
I always saw it as just something basic that wasn't difficult to complete, but still required you to keep your eyes on the screen and be aware. I got a little bit of fun when you get a good roll on the symbol locations and you can complete it quickly. I'm not arguing or anything just curious why you think it's lazy design. Do you consider just pressing 1 button and waiting for a set amount of time is a better idea? Or what would you put in place of the minigame here?
You need something to keep the player in need of defending, vermintide had a lot of explosive barrels you had to transport that would explode and reset if you werent well defended. Do you think something similar would be better than what we have in darktide?
It's literally designed to distract you and make you pay attention, that's the point lmao - there is nothing wrong with that when the minigame is pretty simple. If you need this addon then you probably aren't even doing difficulties where this would be beneficial in the niche case scenario where the nodes on each line are directly on-top of one another.

是否也能製作?
There's a new decoder in the revamp.
Is it possible to create it?
