The only issue is that if there is a graphic card update will disable all favorites saved only recommendation I can give is, to put one of the key chains on it so you never lose it even if the list gets wiped.
So the last time I downloaded mods was for tf2 about 5 or so years ago so forgive me with this question. Because this mod and others got an update how do I update this? Redownload on top of the files I already have? Or is their something else I'm not aware of? My apologies for the stupid question.
OK You have to download this because the selling system is so wonky in darktide. You can be hovering over the bottom most item on your weapon list, but instead sell the top item. IK cuz it happened to me. Endorsed! Thank you!

it just didn't kick in at all for weeks and then just suddenly worked after my settings were wiped one day.

I dont know about the more colors, maybe it was just some mod settings conflicts
is it possible that the favorite ones get push to the top?

If you want to make sure, you can delete the old mod before this
I suggest to always use "files" tab rather that the right-top download button on nexusmods, since that button usually gives you an old version
There is also an extension for Vortex too, but I don't use that personally
