Woah crap I didn't notice you said we can alter these. Last year I actually did the lightning claw mod into being dual-wielded with poweraxe moveset (there are a good number of hits coming from the offhand).
AND THEN I also added a Storm Bolter that was attached to the left Lightning Claw. Horus' Claw.
Question before I get the mod: How does one select the armor they choose? Say I want to use the Emperor's Children armor, am I looking for a file or folder with Emperor's Children to put in the preview folder?
For the most part, mods for this game require two actions by the user. Because I use Steam, I can only walk you through that process.
Action 1: -usepreview Step 1: Go to the page for the game in Steam and click on Manage (cog symbol) Step 2: This should give you a dropdown menu where you click on Properties, This should launch a new window. Step 3: In the new window you should be on the "General" tab. Scroll to the bottom. Step 4: Under "Launch Options" you should type in "-usepreview" all one word with the "-" in front.
Action 2: The mod Step 1: Decide which mod to use, in that mod folder should be a folder named "preview" Step 2: Copy the "preview" folder and paste it in the same folder as the main game. The games' location may look something like this: Program Files (x86)\Steam\steamapps\common\Warhammer 40,000 Space Marine
Is there any way to have that armor that has sidonus in the image but for titus? I mean the blue armor in the image, does anyone have a mod to use it on titus? so it is called veteran armor in the game.
Obviously, I’m replying to this a little late, but if you are willing to put in a little work you might be able to accomplish what you are looking for. To start, make sure to always keep a backup anytime you are modding or editing files. As far as the skin of the individual armor you will be looking in both:
There are three folders in each, but you will only be working with two of them
sm_armour_sidonis orSidonis sm_armor_basic_upresor Titus
Essentially you are making a copy of the Sidonis armor skins and renaming all the subfolders and files the same as the corresponding ones in “basic_upres” which is Titus’ skins. You may be able to get away with only renaming all subfolders and not having to adjust the files themselves, saving yourself some work.
If this doesn’t work, or you end up with invisible body parts, there may be changes that have been made in “preview\sim” that are affecting your results.
