Unfortunately, this does not solve the problem with short sound distance. So even without fog, using the distant camera mod results in the loss of all battle sounds.

Downloaded the mod but can't zoom out any farther than vanilla game. Whats wrong with it?

  This mod "Increases Fog Distance and Sky Radius" sir. For zooming out you need another mod.
  For example: Better Camera Mod for DoW addon - Dawn of War: Soulstorm - Mod DB
