I'm going to port it once WG2 receives official modding support. There is a modding beta, but adding custom animations is bugged right now. I'm waiting for a patch that will address this issue. :)
The Robotality (wg2 devs) are staying radio silent, so I dunno when that will be. I suspect they will just shadow drop the patch in the coming weeks.
In order to help you I need the crash log. You can locate it under %appdata% > Roaming > Chucklefish > Wargroove > log.txt. Note, crash logs gets overwritten each time you turn on the game.
Alternatively you can try to describe steps to replicate the crash. e.g. What mods are you using? Where the crash happens (e.g. in skirmish, in editor, any gamemode)?
For your information, this mod doesn't change any lua files, thus crash that says "an error happened while attempting to execute a Lua script" might be caused by something else. I'm eager to try to help though.

Well, I can confirm that I'm currently working on unique units for each faction.
I'm currently working on two projects at once; > Exclusive Units 2.0 update (which will include 6 renewed faction unique units, compatibility with modded COs, tutorial campaign and bug fixes) > Follow-up update to Darkest Hour's End of Law update (2 new units, new production building & new scenario map)
Both of those projects are quite ambitious therefore it's quite hard to tell when I'll be done with either of them. ^ but hopefully I'll get done both updates by the end of this year :)
If you don't wanna miss the release date of either of those updates, make sure to join Wargroove's official discord server, as I always try to keep people there posted!

I've released wg2 port of Triple Trouble.
The image below is a link to the wg2 port mod page.
It shows: #Mission# in the produce window.
A Patch for this would be nice.
I've released a new update that addresses this issue.
The game will now load english translation in place of #MISSING# text.
