what im curious about is why anyone would install this, female malks outfits are literally the only reason i pick them over the male malks. it literally makes the game perfect because the visuals are on par with the excellent story telling. changing it ruins the malk character.
It's one reason why some of us don't use a Malkavian woman; being crazy doesn't mean she has to be dressed like a stripper, haha. I mean, it's a bit embarrassing to go dressed like that, except for the first and last armor. It's good that there's this alternative.
First of all I love the work and the fact that you folks put an effort at all into making mods (I know I'm too damn lazy lol), but I was curious as to what was wrong with the hair style and its physics? I was looking for a new skin for my Malk and I really really <3 this one, but I want my floppy unbelievable pony tail lol. If it's maybe something easy that I can do myself so you wouldn't have to consider special requests?
Easy == not involving a modeling program preferably... maybe lines of code? I can do code... I just don't have any (or desire to learn) modeling programs
These files are derived mostly from Pronette/Jeanette/Therese assets. I believe that the first two models originally had Jeanette style "pigtails", but not a ponytail like the default female Malkavian PC.
Thank you for the quick response, but is there a way to restore the hair/head piece while still keeping the outfit/armors? I apologize if my question wasn't clear enough. I really love the outfits, but I want my floopy hair heh
Hi Vahlokjul, Unfortunately, the texture layout is not identical, so swapping textures would not suffice. Also, you can't swap hairs in this game. If you'd like to try the quick pig-tail conversions that I prepared for Lord V, I can P.M. you with a link.
lol thats some patient you have there man sending the files everyone one by one? cant you just upload them for some reason? also can I have them as well pretty please
I never uploaded these because - out of respect -, I was waiting for official permission from one of the original texture authors, even though I'm sure that they would not have complained if I did not ask, it's standard protocol. Now it seems as though the files and instructions were deleted from the source.
I believe that I've found some of the original loose files, but they're a mess...
I like this mod so much better than the original, but for one thing: the eyes. I really loved the heterochromia. How do I make her eyes blue and yellow again? I have the unofficial patch and it came with editing software and everything, but the tutorials I found were so long and complicated. All I wanna know is how to change her eyes back to the original. Help?
Hey, the first thing to try, would be to get the game to load the original textures for the eyes. Do this by renaming (give the files a bogus name or file extension such as ".BAK"), temporarily removing the eye files from the folders, or creating a new folder where the files reside, and dragging them into it. Restart the game to test.
Look for the "eyeball_l/r.vmt" files, which assign the eye color here: ...\Vampire The Masquerade - Bloodlines\Unofficial_Patch\materials\models\character\pc\female\malkavian.....(armor0-3)
If that doesn't work, or for more info, see my "Eye Color VMT's" mod.
EDIT: I looked in my "vanilla file repository" and those files when opened, look like this:
Yep, the edit worked. I'd looked into it so I kind of figured it'd be that simple, I just had to know what to call the eye colors first. Didn't wanna start editing and then break the thing, y'know? Thanks a ton. <3
I reallylike this mod! But how can I make work for another clan like tremere for example? I know that I can make changes to clandoc000, but I have another skin for malkavian female already. And I don’d want to have the same skin applied to two different clans.
So how canI make changes to folder integrated inside, like change “malkavian” folder in models to “subtlelady”, for example (then I should be able to link this to any clan actually)?
Which toolsI should use to edit that? If it’s difficult could please help?
The way to do it, would be to install the model files as Tremere (for example), and rename the model files to reflect the proper Tremere file names.
Then (IIRC), you would edit the model files' texture path entries, so that the models use an alternate texture path. You could add the "subtlelady" folder at some point into the models' texture path entries, then create the actual "subtlelady" folder at the same point in the physical folder path, then put the mod's textures into it.
I believe that this can be done using the old hack tool that was used for almost everything before the SDK was released, but I can't find the file at this time. It used to be found in the Unofficial Patch Extras mod tool stuff, but it's not currently installed. I expected it to be on found on Planet Vampire and Moddb, but didn't see it. It's probably possible to do using the SDK, but I can't give instructions for that.
Hope that makes sense... EDIT: Download the SDK from Planet Vampire, Extract the file archive, look in SDKBinaries/tools/VPKTool.... The VPKTool .exe file should be in there. Use it to "open" the model files.
Thank you. I have manged to finally change everything in VPKtool and it is working. The part I was missing before was to change all paths in .vmt files.
So, essentially, you had to edit the texture path in the textures' .vmt files, so that they reflect the changes made to the custom/edited texture path location?
Try using the glasses textures from armor2, for armor3. You may need to remove the glasses_spec files from armor 3 as well. Make back-ups first, or re-install the mod if it doesn't work, or you make a mistake.
Edit: Tested... works. Copy from this mod's ("materials\models\character\pc\female\malkavian)\armor2 " folder, to the armor3 folder. therese_glasses.tth therese_glasses.ttz therese_glasses.vmt therese_glasses_2.tth therese_glasses_2.ttz therese_glasses_2.vmt Requires game to be launched after texture swap to load textures properly.
so when I load my downtown malk save with armor1 equipped it starts alright with right model and everything. but when I change armor (I give all of them with console to try and see if they work.) all of them looks like armor0 including the armor1 which previously looked as it should at start. ?I tried using the glasses textures from armor2, for armor3 with or without removing the glasses_spec from armor3 both of them resulted with the same bug. then I tried it without messing with the mod thinking maybe its because I messed with the files or something... but same thing happened again.
Edit: It seems that I have this issue as an universal problem for all clans.

[EDIT] they do NOT have pigtails.

Good weekend to you.

I looked in my "vanilla file repository" and those files when opened, look like this:
eyeball_l.vmt
"Eyes"
{
"$basetexture" "models/character/eyes/Eyeball"
"$iris" "models/character/eyes/Hazel"
}
eyeball_r.vmt
"Eyes"
{
"$basetexture" "models/character/eyes/eyeball"
"$iris" "models/character/eyes/Blue_Ice"
}
You should be able to edit the vmt files with a text editor.
So how canI make changes to folder integrated inside, like change “malkavian” folder in models to “subtlelady”, for example (then I should be able to link this to any clan actually)?
