Wait... Im not sure if this mod is entirely redundant.... Vanilla only adds naming pets to animal that can be "Tamed", Deers still cannot be tamed?? More importantly, this mod somehow (Not intended) even works on NPCs made by RRR mods. And with Alltameable mod, literally give names to ANY npc including animals/tamed boss ....etc. So question is, until we find out we can name all other NPCs without this mod just by vanilla H&H update, we might still need this in future. And I ask guiriguy is you can look into this if you're still active. Please.
This question is a year old... And sorry about that, but... What are you looking for again? I mean I love that you can name all these, (Not intended... Or yes(?)) hahhaa I mean I wanted to be able to anything that is tamed could have a "character". I can see it doesn't save (that was my main problem, to learn how to make a save to the names outside the game itself). Is that the question? Does this still happen?
I have another mod called "Keezy's Better Wolves", which allows you to set the config so that you can't accidentally kill your tamed wolves. However, naming the wolves disables the config for Keezy's mod, since it only applies to "wolf" npcs, not named ones.
Is there anything that can be done to make these two mods compatible?
Hi, I just updated BepInEx, ModEnforcer & few other mods. After the update, the names I changed in pets/NPCs doesnt stay. The game works & I can still rename new pets/npcs but the old pets/npcs cannot rename again, (I think counted as used once). Those pets/npcs previously had renamed now revert back to original Prefab/Internal ID name. Any chance to take a look at this? Not a big deal, but would be nice.
I doubt it, as we load the hovertext individually, and load the name individually. I'm relatively new to programming. So maybe not. Tho the name is saved in all the creatures, them selfs, the name update isn't and its done by the player. Tho maybe, I cant test it, cuz my m8 doesnt play so much, if you change the creatures name this updates to everyone, tho I doubt it. Give it a test and let me know :D
I've seen other mods that enable syncing info like this by placing the mod on server as well
Then whenever a player uses mod to set the tame's name it would send that name to server and any other players could sync names from server to their local PC
Would be happy to help test if you wanna give it a whirl
Would it be possible to add an option to disable the message about crouching to change name? This way you only get the prompt to change the name when you are crouched. Reason I ask is I have a lot of tamed animals and it would be nice to reduce the amount of extra text that pops up every time my cursor hovers over them.
Just tested it with RRR NPCs and it works, but it doesn't show the name above the mob until you reload the world. Any way to make it appear immediately?
I'll be trying to, but dont want to mess with Better UI's way of doing it. I'll have to search a way to force an update each time a name is placed to a creature

Thank you for your time!

1. Using N while typing the name does a weird thing.
2. You can't rename again a named pet! strange limitation. Better not do a typo then!
As for the hover text, yes i could add a config to make it optional :)
Keybind To Change Tame Name = L
Ingame says L still needs N to press tho.
A conflict with Valheim Legends keybindings? I have N for an ability....
Then theres a weird bug having something like "L= name..." within the name of a infused mob from CLLC... Fire-Infused [L= Name Tame] Greyling
Can you explain this last one? hahaha Thanks :D
I presented your mod on r/ModdedValheim?!
hope you are fine with that :)
best regards
