   Can anyone confirm whether this works or not? This is exactly the mod I was looking for, the black metal shield looks horrible with those chains!

   Nothing happens with my shield in game.
   CustomMeshes is installed and I've put the \ShieldBlackmetal in \CustomMeshes folder. Chains are still there.
   What am I missing?

      yeah, having same problem. read the previous convo with Dubaco too.  did something change with how the meshes work?

      Hey there! I don't mod for this game anymore.. maybe I come back someday. But if this mod used to work, and now it doesn't.. probably some update broke it. If I ever download the game again, I'll be sure to install the mod and test it.

   I was waiting to craft the black metal shield to download this mod! Thank you so much!
   
   Unfortunately I might have screwed up with the installation, it did not work. Is there any other things I should do to make it work?

      Well, it's usually a matter of file/directory organization. When you install Custom Mashes, there will be a new folder in \plugins called \CustomMeshes. In there you must paste my ?\Shieldblackmetal folder. Inside there should be \attach\default.fbx.
      
      The organization should be \Valheim\BepInEx\plugins\CustomMeshes\ShieldBlackmetal\attach\default.fbx

      Weird... That's what I did... The path is:
      
      C:\Program Files (x86)\Steam\steamapps\common\Valheim\BepInEx\plugins\CustomMeshes\ShieldBlackmetal\attach\default.fbx
      
      Do I need to "load it" somehow using bepinex? Or should the default.fbx model be used automatically?

      Hhhmm.. check if you can use other mods that use custom meshes or any other mods at all..
      
      Also, maybe you could try reinstalling custom meshes?

      Installing the "Assimp Libraries" as stated in the "Custom Meshes" mod fixed it! They are necessary for importing fbx files!
      
      Thank you for the help, reporting in to help others with the same (dumb) issues haha
